Dr. Charles Loewe, MD

Several of our family have been under the care of Dr Loewe for routine annual visits, ongoing oversight of prescriptions, and procedures including upper GIs and colonoscopies. He and his team have been outstanding in every aspect. Dr Loewe has successfully diagnosed several complicated issues and his resulting care has been incredibly important to our overall healthcare.

Dr. Loewe helped my 81 year old Mother in Law to feel so much better! She had terrible Ulcerative Colitis which caused her to be hospitalized several times but under Dr. Loewe’s care she has made great strides and is feeling better every day! Highly recommend Dr. Loewe

Dr Loewe has been my Dr for 30 years and is always up to date on the best ways to deal with my medical issues. He constantly researches and stays up to date!

Dr Loewe uses water to expand and lubricate the colon instead of just lube and CO2 to expand and view. Without anesthesia I had no pain, cramping, etc. In and out in 90 minutes, and able to work a normal day since I had no anesthesia to wear off. Highly recommend, esp if you don't want anesthesia.

Dr. Loewe was extremely knowledgeable and caring. He took the time to listen to my concerns.It was my first colonoscopy and he made the entire experience stress free.

My mother had her colonoscopy today at the Center for Endoscopy with Dr. Loewe. She has a complicated case, dementia and a few failed colonoscopies. I expressed my concerns to Dr. Loewe about having another attempt at a colonoscopy. He explained why his protocol is different, we discussed it and I felt more comfortable. Today proves he is an AMAZING doctor with an AMAZING staff!! He successfully completed her colonoscopy with no complications. We were in and out in no time. He did what the NYU doctor couldn't after several failed attempts. Dr. Loewe may have saved my mother from possible future surgery and I cannot be more thankful. Getting in to see him was quick and easy. Unfortunately, you can literally die waiting for your test results. I have stomach cancer and required an endoscopy to assess future treatment. That was 3 weeks ago. I was just informed 'the lab is behind and there's nothing we can do to speed up the process. Test results take at least a month.' If I had known that up front I never would stepped foot in Dr. Loewe's office or any of his associates. My oncologist is waiting for those results as well. This place, Florida Digestive Health Specialists, should be shut down permanently. They care nothing for their patients.

Dr Loewe’s staff in the surgery center were fantastic - Other than that - he was extremely rude during initial appointment, there was no follow-up whatsoever on test results, no one calls you back. Billing is awful - they told me $400 - now getting bills for $900.

I opted for a non sedation colonoscopy due to my severe phobia of IVs. The colonoscopy performed by Dr. Loewe was awesome ( yes, awesome!) It was not painful, Dr. Loewe explained everything as we went along and checked on me throughout the procedure. The water technique as opposed to air was not remotely uncomfortable. He was gentle and thorough. I was able to leave right after the procedure with no lingering effects of anesthesia. Highly recommend this procedure with Dr Loewe. The staff at the Center of Endoscopy were stellar all around!

Had my colonoscopy today with Dr. Loewe and the Endoscopy Center. From reception to waking up in recovery it was a great experience. Nurses were friendly and fun and the procedure itself was quick and painless. Very impressed and very satisfied with the service.

Outstanding Doctor!

I have never left an online review before, but, in this case, I feel compelled to warn prospective patients. If there were anything less than one star, I would choose that. The one experience we had tells it all: My husband was referred to Loewe for an endoscopy after a test indicated age-related narrowing in his throat. I was called in at the end of the procedure, and Loewe walked in, never looked at me, and brusquely announced: “Your husband has esophageal cancer. If you have any questions, ask the nurse.” He then turned and abruptly left the room. We could not reach him (nor did he call us) for results of the biopsy or the CT scan and couldn’t schedule a follow up appointment with him for three weeks. Need I say more? STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS AWFUL MAN AS POSSIBLE. The only thing we are grateful for is that his outrageous behavior motivated us to call Moffitt, where we were able to schedule an appointment with the best surgeon in the Southeast in less than a day.

Had my second colonoscopy with Dr. Loewe today (I'm on a 5-year schedule) and I had another very positive experience with this important preventive care procedure. His office made the whole process very easy and the staff was very professional. Their modern facilities, state-of-the art equipment and wonderful staff, plus Dr. Loewe's expertise and friendly manner guarantee a positive experience. I stay awake during the procedure since I find the whole process to be fascinating and I think it's beneficial to get a glimpse of the inside of one's body to help gain an appreciation for the amazing human body. Dr. Loewe explained some details and answered all my questions. I highly recommend Florida Digestive Health Specialists and Dr. Loewe.

I've been a patient of Dr. Loewe's since 2014. I always got the best care from him. However, with an active flare up of ulcerative colitis, and no good outcome over than surgery, Dr. Loewe quickly arranged surgery for me. He was confident this was the right decision for me. It definitely was the right decision and I've never looked back ... He saved my life ... what more can I say but Thank You Dr. Loewe.

My primary Dr, who I trust (and I’m mistrustful of doctors for very good reasons) wanted me to see Dr Loewe for my internist (Crohn disease) - I like this doctor. He asked questions, looked at me in the eye and only referred to “the chart” as needed. He communicated CLEARLY a protocol of action to take to help me HEAL ... where most doctors want to only mask through pills. Yes, i’ll be taking the medicine he is suggesting to take ... because he explained it! Great doctor and grateful he is on my Healing Team!

If you're looking for a Gastroenterologist, Dr. Charles Loewe is the best. He is extremely thorough and spends enough time with you to explain everything. He figured out what was wrong with me when 2 other gastro doctors could not. Highly recommend.
