Very impressed
I am a bit late in posting however felt it necessary to do so. Was referred after developing a very nasty abscess from a previous surgery out of state. I was very impressed and felt fortunate for the care I received. I would recommend him highly. Am still seeing my doctors in CA for majority of my care, however if I need surgery close to home for recovery reasons, this will definitely be my go to. I was impressed!

Excellent experience
If you GOTTA have surgery, it really makes a massive difference how your surgeon communicates, and whether his technique is clean and delicately done. Ive had enough surgery to feel the difference, and I was impressed with how delicately done his work was, which means a lot less bruising and overall discomfort during recovery. Every bit as important was his communication before AND after, and the assistance of his staff. Everything was as it should be which made waiting for that stressful “benign or malignant” answer easier to bear. Nice man. I would definitely return to him if i needed more surgery.

Dr. James is great. He carefully explained the abnormal cells (precancerous) he found during a colonoscopy and recommended follow up with a specialist at OHSU in Portland. If he hadn't paid close attention during the procedure he could have missed it. I had already seen another doctor in Coos Bay, who ignored the problem, told me to go home, relax, and quit thinking about it. Dr. James' recommendation probably saved my life. He's also funny and I enjoyed my visits with him.

Dr James is very friendly and has a great sense of humor. He is very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. I had an umbilical hernia repair with mesh and felt 100% bettetand in no pain what so ever after just 1 week. I really trust his surgical skills.

Dr. James performed a colonoscopy recently and recommended another one in for 10 years. He stated on Colonoscopy Report: Normal Findings: The entire colon was normal. I obtained the photos and there was a polyp that he did not disclose. I took it to my general doctor and she confirmed. I now have to have another colonoscopy because 4 years ago I had a polyp removed that was precancerous. I don't know if polpy is benign, precancerous, or cancerous. GET YOUR PHOTOS AND LOOK YOURSELF!
