Steer clear - no reason to see him
I am writing this review to warn others about my extremely negative experience with Dr. Downey. he may be amazing at delivering babies and That’s wonderful! My experience with him: His complete disregard for my symptoms and lack of empathy were utterly shocking. I sought his expertise to address specific health concerns. Instead of listening to my concerns and providing appropriate care, Dr. Downey dismissed my symptoms as 'normal' and seemed uninterested in helping me. Though he did perform a complete blood test, seeming absolutely exacerbated.His dismissive attitude towards women's health issues is deeply concerning. It's clear that he lacks the compassion and understanding necessary to provide effective care for patients, especially those going through significant life changes. If you are seeking a doctor who truly cares about your well-being and takes your concerns seriously, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Dr. Downey is not the person you want to trust with your

Terrible staff, wait time was over an hour
If I can give this place negative stars, I will. My appointment was at 1:30PM, but was told to arrive at least 30minutes early for paperwork, so I did. I arrived early, filled in paperwork and was let in. Needless to say, from 1:30 pm, they have me wait until almost 3pm with no doctor in sight and no explanation. Staff was not accommodating either and offered no explanation. I'm ok with waiting, so long as explanations are provided. But this one, nothing. The staff are just chatting and giggling. The waiting area outside had 0 patients when I came in. Will not be returning.

I went to him because I had an infection and was in serious pain. He did not do a thorough exam and did not run any tests. He just told me that I didn't have an infection. I went on to a different obgyn for a second opinion. The second opinion doc did an exam, ran some tests, and I got an accurate diagnosis of what actually turned out to be 3 infections, and I was given 4 prescriptions by the second opinion doctor, which solved the problem. I will not going back to Dr D. as this is the second time something similar to this has happened to me when I went to him with a serious problem.

Terrible doctor. The staff was nice and accommodating, but Dr. Downey is terrible. I went in because of severe pelvic pain. I am having a hard time functioning. He had two tests done, didn’t even look at the images, and told me there’s nothing wrong. In his words, “sometimes they do exploratory surgery and find nothing but it makes the patient feel better.” Like I’m making this up. I’m terrified of needles and tests, and I’m begging for them because my pain is so bad. When I asked questions about more tests or other things it could be, he shrugged me off, and told me I should go to pain management. I said I didn’t want to treat the symptoms. I wanted to fix the problem. Again shrugged me off. I’m going to a REAL doctor now who is looking into other causes of my pain. You know, someone who listens to their patient and doesn’t just ship them off to get pills when they don’t want to bother with helping them.

I was referred to Dr. Downey when my midwife had to transfer my care at 37 weeks. I've since been through two more pregnancies (including a loss at 9 weeks) and can confidently say that Dr. Downey has provided me with the most informational, helpful, considerate care I've ever received in an OBGYN's office. He's flexible and never makes me feel rushed when I have questions at an appointment. He approached my loss with sensitivity and kindness. He's well worth the 3-hour drive I take to see him.
