Best Opthalmologist in the Grand Strand !
I started to develop flashing lights in my eye on a Friday night and became concerned when they wouldn't stop and even more alarmed when the speed increased. My husband and I called around to several eye doctors and specialists but no one could see me then or offered much help. Megan, Dr. Doering's assistant, returned my call the same night and was both kind and helpful. She then checked on me the next morning and upon finding out that my symptoms hadn't changed, said the doctor would see me on Saturday afternoon. When I arrived, they made me feel very welcome and not at all like I had interrupted their weekend. Dr. Doering was compassionate, thorough and reassuring and stated that I shouldn't hesitate to call them again at any time if the symptoms increased. I left knowing I was in good hands and had the peace of mind that I needed to ride this out. I wouldn't go anywhere else for specialty eye care! This team is the best!

Dr. & staff
This office got me in at the very last minute on a Friday as a new patient. The ladies at the front desk were super nice, the lady that checked me in was very sympathetic to my situation, and Dr. Doering took great care of my eye. I will definitely be using this Dr again.

I had a Vitrectomy procedure done to my left eye, I was extremely nervous to have this done, I was told by my regular eye Dr. that it was very risky operation. After meeting with Dr Doering he assured me that my vision would improve and that he felt confident that I would come thru the operation and be happy with the results. It has been 2 weeks since my procedure and my vision is the best its been in 20 years. I am so glad I got it done as I was giving up hope that my vision was not ever going to get better. Before I met with Dr Doering I was getting very depressed about my vision and it was affecting my life. Thank You so much Dr Doering for giving me my quality life back.Sincerely Mitchell Vann

Excellent Retinologist!
I was referred to a different retinal specialist and would not be seen for 2 weeks, but after review research and recommendation from a friend, I chose Dr Doering. My appointment was expedited without question. From reception to nursing & technicians to the physician, the practice ran like a well-oiled machine never leaving me to sit idle. Yet everyone delivered superior care with friendliness, personalization, professionalism and compassion. As a nurse, that combination is beyond compare! I will have completed 2 procedures/treatment before I could even be seen by the original specialist.

I went to see Dr Doering beacuse I was told I might have a serious eye condition. From the front desk, to the technician, to Dr Doering everyone was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The tech ws wonderful about explaining the different tests she was performing and answering all my questions. Dr. Doering, after telling me that I did not have this eye condition took the time to show me the scan, the results, his conclusion and why it might have been thought that I had this condition. It isn't easy to find doctors who are not only knowledgeable, but sincerely care about their patients. I will be using Dr. Doering for all my future opthmalogic visist

Awesome Caring Doctor
I was a patient of Dr. Doering for years He would immediately see me when a flare up would start. Due to the constant need for steroids, I developed cataracts, but because of my age (only 48), Dr. Doering did not want to rush to surgery and would rather hold off as long as possible while preserving my eyesight. I was sad to learn that Dr. Doering left Coastal Eye Group. I was left to find another doctor to help treat my flare ups. Immediately at the first visit the new doctor highly suggested that I get the cataract surgery, which I was not comfortable with because I felt that he did not get to really know my condition and just wanted a paycheck. By luck, my husband saw Dr. Doering's sign for his new practice, I immediately called to schedule an appointment and the awesome staff promptly got me scheduled with Dr. Doering. I explained to him all that I went through during our time apart and that surgery was suggested, after a thorough examination by Dr. Doering, he still recommends tha

Best ophthalmologist.
Staff was very nice. Dr Doering ran right on schedule. I have been in glasses for more than 50 years, lived all over the US, and seen many optometrists and ophthalmologists in that span of time. Dr Doering is the best. He is professional, thorough, knowledgeable, kind, courteous, and he takes time to explain his findings and answer my questions. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking excellent medical care for their eyes.
