Great doctor and surgeon for my knee replacements!
Found Dr Cornell to be very open about the surgery and the attendant risks. Clearly and concisely answered all of my questions. Had great conversations about the risks and rewards of knee replacement surgery as well as alternative treatments. He was also very open about his experience and expertise in knee replacement surgery.

No help when you have Complications
Dr. Cornell did my knee replacement 9 years ago using an Exactech implant at HSS in NYC. The implant was recalled in April 2022. I needed a revision of my knee replacement because the implant was damaging bones near the implant. I wanted to have a video conference apt with Dr. Cornell about my issue with hopes he could give me advise about my upcoming surgery. When I called his office for an appointment I was told he would only do in office visits and that he was busy and would be on vacation. How disgusting to do surgery on a patient which required a revision and not have the decency to even talk to the patient. Do not go to him if you think you will get or should need follow up advice.

A surgeon who is getting old, and losing his skills. He is inconsiderate, his office staff is rude, his physicians assistant does not have a good knowledge base. He performed wrong surgery on my family member. If you care for your family, find another surgeon, otherwise you may regret.

Dr, Cornell is very patient and answered all my Questions and concerns. I told him I was more concerned about post hip surgery because of lack of assistance at home. He saw me at HSS three times and his office answered all my questions when I called.

I had knee replacement n 09/15/16. Very pleased with the surgery and my recovery thus far. Still doing PT. I felt whenever I called his office after surgery someone got back to me promptly and answered my questions and called in my medication immediately. Would definitely recommend him to family & friends. As a matter of fact he operated on my sister's knees in 2004 and 2006, she is still doing great with her knee replacement and she's 86 yrs. old. While Dr Cornell did a successful hip replacement for me, my recovery was unnecessarily long (4 months) and I got no support or information from him or his staff. He cut many muscles to make it an easier surgery for him. Furthermore he performed the surgery 2 weeks (not 6 weeks) after I had a steroid shot (which most surgeons won't do because it complicates healing). Don't go!
