Wouldn’t ever go back to him
I really don’t want to talk about it. You can read what other dissatisfied patients wrote and know that my experience was comparable to theirs.

I think he did an OK exam, but it was clear I was bother to him. Get me in and out as quick as possible. He was upset with me because it had been 4 years since my previous appointment, yet told me my vision was unchanged. I have used progressive lenses for years. Told me I should switch to bifocals. Didn't want to give me a new prescription for computer/reading glasses. Clearly upset that I again asked for it. When I went to buy new glasses, the technician refused to take an order for new glasses, saying the prescription he wrote was impossible to make. She told me I had to have a new prescription that was written correctly. We discussed the pros and cons of progressive vs bifocal, and it became clear that my decision years ago to use progressive lenses was correct. I asked him about my cataracts as I can tell they are getting worse and my previous doctor told me I would need surgery around this time. He blew me off saying I was not close to surgery. I won't go back.

"Dr. Chiang is an outstanding physician. At my evaluation for cataract surgery in both eyes he was caring, attentive to my questions and explained everything to me so I was comfortable with moving forward. He performed surgery on Aug 5 and Aug 25 and it was an exceptional experience. He and the staff at the Ambulatory Eye Center took great care of me and explained what was happening. I've been a patient of Eye Associates since the early 80s and I have always been treated well and had outstanding medical care. Dr. Chiang is an outstanding physician and he is now going to be my doctor from now on since my previous Eye Associates doctor retired. Yep I am that old!! You can't go wrong with Eye Associates of NM. All of their staff are top notch and focused on YOUR individual eye needs."

I opted for ""Trifocal"" lenses surgery; the combination of distance, intermediate and near vision; costing $4,500 out of pocket above what insurance covered. My left eye is the greatest; perfect!. My right eye ""bad"" - it has been cloudy since November 2019 surgery. .. .. .. Since surgery cloudiness getting steadily worse, I see tens of thousands of miniature black dots in addition to the cloud that seems to appear out in front between the object I look at and my eye, like out in space. .. .. .. I had follow up, Dr. told me it is astigmatism; nothing is wrong with implant. But each week the cloud in front of my right eye's vision is getting worse and worse; more dense. - With this progression, I am fearful for my sight in my right eye. . .. .. .. One would think that I would have been told that astigmatism will leave my vison severely 'clouded over' after cataract surgery - 'prior' to the surgery and prior to spending the extra $4,500.

He told me I had occular migraines, just wait and it would get better. He repeated this advise after two weeks. After three weeks I went to a real Dr in Abq. Detached retina. Should be reattached w/in a week. Now I have damage to the occular nerve. I will probably never get that vision back.
