Dr. Charles Bingham III, MD

My wife was referred to this guy for evaluation of suspected hyperaldosteronism. She came home visibly upset, saying she had been very uncomfortable with him. She was upset partly because he had made her get undressed and into a skimpy gown for no reason apparent to her. She said she couldn't understand why she had needed to be undressed when the guy went on to perform only the same basic body exam her PCP, prior to referral, had done without even needing any clothing unfastened. For that matter, she felt ambushed by being subjected to any exam at all; she had been expecting only consultation and probably some lab work. I ordered copies of the provider’s notes in which he documented, quite explicitly, having examined her “bikini” areas, though she does not specifically recall that sort of thing. Something doesn’t add up here. We would not recommend Dr. Bingham to anyone.

Dr. Bingham did a very good job during my consult post thyroid cancer diagnosis with explaining the timeline of what was going to happen and what the treatment post surgery was going to be including how the treatment actually reacted with the body. Explained it extremely well in a way that I could easily understand and was cool with me having family on speaker phone to answer any of their questions as well. He was also able to get me set up with additional imaging and a follow up right away and discussed my surgeon with me as well.

Dr Bingham is an excellent Doctor. He helped me understand my thyroid condition. I would recommend him to anyone - I am very pleased with his caring personalty and professionalism.

He was the only doctor that caught my problem of too much calcium and D in my system which was caused by too many supplements I took over many years. However, I was fortunate I was directed to him for my problems which could be extremely serious if I would not have seen Dr. Bingham! And now a year later, I am doing another 24-hour urine collection to be put into a special container, and refrigerated and taken back to Mayo for analysis by Dr Bingham for a follow up. He seems to want to stay on top of things, and I appreciate that very much.

He was incredibly rude and dismissive. He, without warning, put his hands around my throat and aggressively pressed down to feel my thyroid and didn't stop pressing even when I asked him to stop because it hurt so badly. I had finger marks for hours afterward. Told me a bunch of my symptoms didn't matter.

I fired him. He was pompous. Arrogant. He didn't care how I felt. It was a numbers game without any real relief of my symptoms.

Very ill mannered and rude. Doesn't listen to patient needs or wants. Excuses all suggestions and questions from patients.
