Killing my wife
My wife is a regular to him with her ileostomy and for the past 2 years in September she's been in crippling pain, in and out of the hospital cause her stomach problems to where she's been in ICU in critical conditions with acute kidney failure, and severe heart problems due to her sodium and potassium falling critically low to where she has seizures, passes out and 1 or 2 points away from cardiac arrest amd it's all due to her stomach issues and pain to where she can't eat to get the nutrients she needs and all he does is disrespect, disregard, and belittles her on everything she tells him and then walks out of the room when he's talking to her for only 5 minutes top. Would never recommend him what's so ever

I've been dealing with constant abdominal pain for years. He asked only a few questions and I was told I had functional dysepsia and needed to be put on an antidepressant. Been there...done that with other doctors with no success. He was very condescending and arrogant and disrespectful. He would not listen to me. I finally had to ask him if I could ask a question. I've never felt so dismissed and let down by a doctor. Would not recommend!!!

Dismissive and condescending
I waited a year to be seen by this doctor with debilitating gallbladder pain only to be told my pains were stress related and that I needed to 'Google mindfulness' (he literally wrote that on a note and gave it to me). I tried to advocate for testing, but he told me that if I experienced pain again that I would be in the system so it wouldn't take as long to see him. Everything he told me was wrong.I was having gallbladder attacks with a golfball-sized stone in my gallbladder. I was finally able to get testing and receive surgery because a nurse practitioner was able to see me (and took me seriously) before him (another 1.5 year wait). No amount of mindfulness would have prevented a severe attack.I've never felt more dismissed by a doctor and suffered prolonged pain quite like this. I strongly recommend seeking help from other people.

Arrogant, condescending, don't listen. Tried to tell him the symptoms I was having and told me I wasn't having those symptoms. Came into procecedure room talking and laughing on cell phone and wasn't wearing a mask. Very unprofessional considering st louis area still experiencing high rate of covid cases

Disrespectful doctor
He always rushes appointments, talks over you and completely disregards any concerns you may have about your health. He will ignore what you tell him about your symptoms. I have had chronic daily nausea without vomiting and he puts in my medical charts that I’ve been vomiting. He will put things in your medical chart that he never even discussed with you. He is the most incompetent doctor I have ever dealt with and I would never recommend anyone to see him.

Do not see him if you’re a hard case.
He misdiagnosed me with Functional Dyspepsia when I had Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS). If I could give no star I would. For 6 months a had pain in my stomach that was so bad I could not eat. He told me to go to therapy, medicated me, and then diagnosed me with Functional Dyspepsia (stomach pain that can’t be explained). I did everything he asked .. including going to therapy and after all that and all the meds .. he told me to try acupuncture. Luckily, we got a diagnosis from other doctor before I continued on with pain.

IT WAS MY FIRST VISIT WITH DR. GYAWALI. I WAS IN A VERY BAD WAY WITH SEVERAL YEARS OF GI PROBLEMS. OTHER DOCTORS TRIED THEIR BEST BUT I WAS LOOSING THE WILL TO LIVE WITH MY QUALITY OF LIFE. AFTER THE FIRST EXAM THE DOCTOR HIT THE TARGET WITH 3 MEDICATIONS. WITHIN 2 MONTHS I AM MUCH BETTER AND WAS ABLE TO STAY IN CONTACT WITH HIM AND HIS STAFF OVER THE INTERNET. I MUST HAVE CONTACTED HIM OVER 50 TIMES WITH QUESTIONS AS MY CONDITION VARIED AND IMPROVED AS HE FINE TUNED THE MEDICATION. HE ALWAYS RESPONDED QUICKLY. WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE A DOCTOR WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE IN ST LOUIS. HE IS A VERY KIND AND UNDERSTANDING DOCTOR.

After seeing multiple doctors and not getting better I was finally able to see Dr Gyawali. He immediately knew what was wrong. After suffering for 9 months with severe diarrhea constantly with stomach pain with in 2 weeks I was better than I had ever been. Dr Gyawali’s diagnose and treatment plan made it possible for me to go back to living a normal life and saved my job.

I waited eight months months to see him. Over the course of two and a half years my condition improved and I have as close to a normal lifestyle as possible. Yes, I agree he is very busy but I always received a call back. He listened at my appointments and when a medication didn’t work for me, he prescribed something else. I recommend him without reservation. He changed my life for the better.

Waited over a year to see him for a five minute meeting where he read my chart to me (as if I didn't know what was on it), then misdiagnosed my condition. I was under the impression that Dr. Gyawali is the best GI specialist in the country, but I now realize that was a joke.

I would not refer anyone to this doctor. Dr. Gyawali is condescending and ill informed. He dismissed my GI symptoms as IBS when in fact I had Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome. He is arrogant and incompetent. He prescribed strong medications that did not work and caused terrible side effects. He was dismissive and cold. I would never refer anyone to him.

Not too long ego I was referred to this Dr to study my condition (best doctors). Never seen me or done any studys, only base in a phone call and couple test done by other doctors. Everything he say is wrong about my condition . I don't recomend this doctor to not one. I have been with real good Dr's, that really knows my condition. I don't even use pain killer .,thus doctor says my condition is due to taking opium ,I don't use drugs ,not even pills.

Waited 9 months for my first visit. Doctor was condescending and did not listen. Told me my constant nausea and daily vomiting "wasn't that bad". Left 2 messages for the nurse about the medication he prescribed costing $500 out-of-pocket, and that I wanted another option. Never heard back from them. Both appts I had were different on their schedule than on the card they gave me, and I was sent away. No apologies for their error or for wasting my time. Awful. Do not go.
