Dr. Cecelia Yu, MD

I am an older woman. Dr. Yu really pays attention to all the aspects of my health, not just gyn. Even though I only see her once a year or less, she always is very well informed about our previous visits and discussions.

Dr.Yu did an amazing job with my c-section, made sure I was in no pain and healed well w/minimal scarring.She later did a successful labia repair surgery after a failed attempt w/another doc, which was slightly outside the scope of her work (but she did it anyway and very well, I’ll add)She’s kind, caring, and answers all questions thoroughly and without judgment. She’s knowledgeable and always pleasant, making patients feel comfortable and confident they are in good hands. Entertain no negative reviews. I’ve never had a better doc.

She just has a very strange bedside manner... She tends to minimize your symptoms. Maybe she is trying to reassure people, but when you are experiencing symptoms that affect your quality of life you don't really need to hear someone tell you they are not a big deal. She tends to talk to you like you are an idiot, and does not really show much empathy. I've actually had much better experiences with the Nurse Practitioners in the practice.

I have discontinued going to DR. Yu. for a few reasons. Every time I had an appointment the Doctor was at least 45 minutes late. This can happen but not every visit. Also on my last visit I was handed a sheet and told to undress from the waist down. I have never been to an ob/gyn Dr who did this and when I mentioned a breast exam I was told to pull my bra up. I found this very degrading . I'm sure the DR. is well educated but it is necessary to concern yourself with the patient.
