First, I will start by saying I have an EXTENSIVE ENT history going back to my childhood. I moved to Dover from Pennsylvania and needed a new doctor back in 2020 as I had an ear infection. I found Dr Wright and my ear infection was so bad that she drained the ear and recommended tubes if I had reoccurring infections. During this time, covid was just kicking off and she was not able to schedule said tube. The world proceeded to flip upside down and I avoided returning to the office unless needed. Fast forward to January 2024, I lose my hearing while eating dinner. As I finish dinner, my ear starts to feel discomfort and pain starts to increase. I proceed to a walk in center for treatment of what I believed was an ear infection based on my many previous ear infections. The doctor confirmed the infection, put me on meds, and proceeded to tell me to follow up with my ENT. I immediately made an appointment at Dr. Wright's office but wasn't able to get in until March 2024. Upon my visit, Ruth Joanis saw me and placed me on a nasal spray as she was able to physically see inflammation in both ears and nose/ sinuses. I was scheduled with a follow up in July. May 2024, I visited another country and ran out of meds while on said vacation. I was out of the spray for 5 days. During those days, I started with head pain, nose drainage, and ear pain. I then flew with these symptoms. After getting home, I refilled my prescription but by then it was too late and another ear infection formed. I reached out to the office and was able to schedule a June appointment. When I went in, I was scheduled for a tube placement in the infected ear. July 19th, Dr. Wright walked into my appointment claiming (having not seen me or examining me for years) that my hearing loss and ear pain were from TMJ. She placed the tube anyway and discharged me. Less than 2 weeks later, I developed ear pain (not ear infection pain), but I was concerned about the surgery site. She reiterated that this was from TMJ. I proceeded with a follow up with her anyway. Fast forward to this week, having already ruled out the possibility of TMJ, she proceeded to tell me my symptoms are actually from undiagnosed migraines and that I have been misdiagnosed my entire life. My biggest issue is that she never listened to my situation, never cleared her mind to give my circumstances a fair shake, and had her mind made up as to the cause of my issues before ever meeting me. If you are not able to advocate for yourself, please do not visit this doctor. She is not an advocate for you and will disregard your concerns. She will place you in a bubble of what happens to everyone else vs focusing on you as an individual patient. She does not represent a kind, understanding or caring doctor that I am accustomed to seeing and I don't even mean personality wise as I have known many doctors that are straight and to the point with a very dry communicative tone. This is not that. She made up her mind before entering my exam room and never gave a single ounce of empathy for my situation as a whole. I would absolutely not recommend her as an ENT.

Stand-In,
After making an appointment specifically with Dr. Wright and waiting a month and a half for our appointment, driving over two hours one-way, being there for two hours: I NEVER SAW DR WRIGHT!!!!! Only a nurse, who looked young enough to be a student!! She didn't 'see' the hole in my ear drum so it must not exist! Two major well known actual ENT doctors in the past both have, (as well as my PCP) all have !! I wanted to see a real ENT to find the cause, why they keep reoccuring, instead I see a nurse posing as a doctor!! That wasn't who I made the appointment with, BE WARE IF YOU WANT TO ACTUAL SEE THE DOCTOR YOUR PAYING FOR DON'T GO HERE

Saw Dr. Wright for two follow ups post-surgery that she performed. Months later and I'm still having issues from the surgery that affect my day to day life. At each follow up appt she dismissed my symptoms and suggested I try therapy to adjust to how my throat is now - instead of correcting the problems.

Very dismissive and cold. Kept ignoring my symptoms. Ends up I had something more serious. Thank god I switched doctors.
