Dr. Catherine Westerband, MD

Dr Westerband is a true professional who provides thoughtful care. I have been her patient for 20 years.

Dr. Westerband has been my doctor for many years and I appreciate her straight forward care. We originally selected her when I was pregnant of our first child (now 18). She helped us get to the facts and calm my other concerns which are common with first pregnancies. My pregnancies were easy, but deliveries each had their own challenges. I was once again calmed by Dr. Westerband's confidence and knowledge in these more trying situations. Over the years when concerning issues have come up (labor & delivery, front desk problems or other medical issues) Dr Westerband has proven to listen and value what we had to say. This past visit was just a follow-up, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well treated I was. Everyone I interacted with from the beginning of my visit, to the end was polite and showed care for me. Again, this hasn't always been the case, which I have communicated to Dr. Westerband and she was thankful for the feedback. Call wait time can be long, use online services.

She has been one of the most kind-hearted gynecologists I have encountered. Despite her busy workload at the office, she took the time to listen to my concerns and empathize with my pain. I truly appreciate her care.

She belittled me and was supposed to be there during my birth and didn’t show. THANK GOD THAT HORRIBLE DOCTOR DIDNT SHOW THAT DAY.

Went in because I thought a cyst burst after excruciating pain & not being able to stand straight. She was 40 min late to my appointment, while I sat there half-naked, then rushed through the appt in less than five minutes. She flipped my paper skirt up before I even knew what was happening, didn't ask me to lay back before shoving the device inside me. She said 'sometimes scary things happen to us in life' but I didn't die so 'obviously the pain wasn't life-threatening'. She said MY GENERATION is 'obsessed with finding answers'. I requested an ultrasound she discouraged it. I asked if she recommended that I follow up with a doctor for an x-ray; she discouraged it. She said if a cyst burst inside me, that's just life and I should learn to move on because 'it probably won't happen again for another 10 years'. I started crying. I have a clean medical history outside of a history, so this was very scary for me to experience. Completely unprofessional, dismissive, condescending behavior.

She's 100% a no nonsense boomer. Personally, that's not what I was looking for. Conversation is not her forte, lectures are. She ignored my questions and made me feel less than and dumb for not agreeing with her and asking questions. Left the room while I was still talking about possible other options I had researched. She ended up coming back (making the decision for me) and doing it her way. I left the appointment feeling anxious, humiliated, insecure and sick to the point where I was shaking in my car. I ended up calling and making a new appointment with a different OBGYN for the following week and went with the new OB's plan instead l, after they undid what Dr. Westerband had done. Uncomfortable and triggering experience all around. If you want someone to tell you what you need, she's the doctor for you. If you want to have a conversation and be educated, go with someone else.

I have been a patient of Dr. Westerband's for over 10 years. I consider myself a proactive informed patient. I have always appreciated her direct approach. She is highly experienced and always answers my questions and concerns honestly and definitively. Thankyou! I am glad to have her as my doctor.

My labor initiated on my due date when my OB wasn’t in hospital and Dr.Westerband delivered my baby boy. She was supportive, asked consent with all procedures, was direct, organized and focused. She performed a pain-free episiotomy and provided me with an empowering birth experience. I feel that her focused skill and mindfulness saved me from a c-section. My family and I are infinitely grateful for her!

I've been Dr Westerband's patient since we moved to Tucson 16 years ago and have been very pleased with the care she provides. She's professional, efficient, and attentive to my health problems every time I submitted her a concern.

I've been seeing Dr. Westerband since 2012. She is fantastic! I love that she's efficient, knowledgeable and no nonsense. She does not sugar coat. She will always be professional, honest and to the point with you regarding your care. That's why I've seen her for all 3 of my pregnancies and they all went beautifully. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Westerband has literally saved my life twice in the 20 years I have been seeing her. When I first became her patient, she found some cancerous cells. Her quick response, guidance, treatment referral, and continuous monitoring has resulted in me being completely cancer free ever since. Then a few years ago I went in complaining of some symptoms and she told me to have my thyroid checked. My PCP had never checked this despite similar complaints. When I went back to my PCP and insisted on thyroid tests they found life threatening hormone levels and I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease. Thanks to her listening to my concerns and her medical knowledge I was able to get the treatment I desperately needed. She is an incredible doctor and has been an angel to me.

She is my mother’s doctor and now she became my doctor. She is a very attentive Doctor. She goes straight to the point of why you are visiting her for your appt. Very fast and effective in her methods. She loves her patients and connects with them. No bad reviews here.

She confused me for a different patient and told me i was having a miscarriage. When she realized I wasn't that patient my issues weren't even resolved I had to go back and wait again and she didn't even come in to see me just a nurse did. Horrible experience!! They even had test results that weren't mine in my file.

Gave me none of her time , was completely disregarded and addressed none of my concerns. Would not recommend to anyone. Waited over an hour to be seen to only get maybe a minute for a very poor examination

I went online and looked at different websites, for a place to go for my high risk pregnancy. I went strictly off of my gut, after seeing the friendly faces at Genesis OB/GYN Northwest. I’m 40 with thyroid problems so there was a level of anxiety. After expressing my concerns to Dr. Westerband, she was so kind and patient with me. She was consistently professional and considerate of questions or concerns I have had over the course of my pregnancy. She is fast and knowledgeable and her nurses are incredibly kind. I would highly recommend her.

I have been receiving excellent care from Dr. W for 8 years now and she he been an amazing OBGYN (I always worry about what I'll do when she decides to retire)! She is consistently professional and considerate of questions or concerns I have had over the years. She is always on time, and I know my exam will be performed in a sensible and timely manner and she always takes the time to address any questions I have. In a world where it seems medical professionals have no issue wasting patient’s time, I have never had that be the case with Dr. W and that is one of the many things I highly value her for. Additionally, her bedside manner is friendly without being fake, and she remembers me every year (which is crazy due to how many patients she sees). The exam rooms are clean and orderly, scheduling an appointment is easy, and the front office and billing staff are friendly. Overall I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Westerband delivered 4 of my children. Dr. Westerband is a wonderful, knowledgeable, and compassionate doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Westerband.

Dr Westerband isn't my normal doctor, but I was able to get in with her for an emergency. She is a fast and knowledgeable and her nurses are incredibly kind. I would recommend her.

Dr. Westerband inserted my Nexplanon Rod birth control. I usually see the FNP but for this Dr. Westerband was my Dr. and she was great! She was very nice and explained everything to me and asked if I had any questions or concerns before insertion of the birth control and even after. It was a quick process but she was great.

I have gone to Dr Westerband for 2 years now and she's nice and listens to you. The staff is also friendly so I have no complaints about this office and would recommend Dr Westerband
