Dr. Catherine Schermer, MD

This is my experience and events:I have thought about this review for close to a year.My surgery was in July 2023 when I first meet Dr. Schermer very good impression and on paper excellent. I was also glad to be able to choose a woman surgeon not so sure now. I believe all went well not sure only had one follow up visit after the surgery and she refused to answer any questions or make eye contact with me not sure why.There have been issues since my surgery and no one to ask questions. I tried by email Dr. Schermer refused to answer my emails. The staff run interference when asking questions or trying to speak with her before surgery. Dr. Schermer gets very angry when you try to ask questions. Some is not right here. May be a good surgeon but to be excellent need to have people skills and a good bedside manner.Any questions about the surgery she refused to answer speak to the scheduling person for that. Do not go to this surgeon. Following my procedure, my medication was sent to the wrong pharmacy that was out of the medication. Rather than accept that a mistake was made, and resending the prescription, the surgeon lied about the pharmacy we provided despite not being present for those discussions and attempted to gaslight me regarding what happened. She then cut the prescription in half when she sent it, despite the fact that my medical situation hadn’t changed. She was using pain relief to punish me for making her mad. You do not want a surgeon that cannot accept any responsibility and will lie to cover up a mistake. The on call service and surgeon I spoke to later that night were very kind, and Melissa, the office manager was also nice and sympathetic. However, when I informed the office that I wanted my follow up with a different surgeon, they declined and told me I don’t really need a surgical follow up anyway. That is not the medical position that is generally taken.

Dr. Schermer was absolutely the best I’ve encountered for her listening skills and explanations. She performed robotic surgery with excellent results, and her recommendations post-surgery proved very effective.

Dr. Schermer was very easy to talk to. Listened and explained well. The surgery results were excellent, great recommendations helped with a quick recovery. The whole team was pleasant and professional. Various sources in the field all spoke of Dr. Schermer in the highest terms.

Dr. Schermer is compassionate, detailed, patient, and skilled. She answers any questions and follows up proactively post-op. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.

Dr Schermer, What a surgeon ! First of all I have to say is Kind, Passionate, detailed and Professional and really felt the caring side of a doctor ! Great before and after surgery and follow up that really made my wife comfortable and safe . As my wife went in for surgery I really had a good feeling she was in very good hands!
