Dr. Catalin Marinescu, MD

I moved across the country in 2020 three months after having a hysterectomy due to endometriosis and ultimately, adenomyosis. I made an appt with Dr. Marinescu bc I read he was a top Dr who worked with these conditions. The day of my first appt I ended up having debilitating pain and could barely work. He barely looked at me and said if I still hurt in a week I should schedule surgery bc I probably had a hernia. He decided last minute he would go ahead and send me downstairs to get an ultrasound. $3,000 later, I ended up having an almost 2 cm cyst on my left ovary and he didn't care or follow up. I was so disappointed with the entire interaction and it cost me thousands of dollars with absolutely no benefit. 0 stars, don't recommend.

Dr. Marinescu is THE BEST!!! He delivered my 2 children via C-section who are now 2 years and 6 weeks old. My first was unplanned as I failed to dilate and my second was planned. I knew with my second pregnancy that my delivery would be smooth as Dr. Marinescu did an outstanding job with my first C-section. He even covered my first scar! I wasn’t nervous at all as I knew I’d be in good hands. I always feel a sense of relief when I see Dr. Marinescu and am incredibly grateful that he was my OB during my pregnancy journey. A friend of mine, a former nurse who had worked with Dr. Marinescu, had also recommended him due to his expertise and skill. Dr. Marinescu never comes off as arrogant or pompous, or pushes his own agenda like some other OBs I’ve met. His staff are also amazing. They are so nice and friendly and patient. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Marinescu - my husband and I recommend him to the highest degree and will miss him!

Dr Marinescu is kind and calm and reassuring and has excellent bedside manner and every good review is true! I had seen 10+ doctors over 15+ years and no one could or would help me with my debilitating fibroids. I am one week post op after minimally invasive surgery and my quality of life is so much better with no fibroids even while I am still healing from the surgery. During my post op appointment he was so happy for me and was smiling so big when he talked to me about the size and qty of fibroids he was able to remove and it’s so nice to see a doctor who really cares for their patients outcomes.

I can’t recommend this doctor. He was rushed and he has no empathy. I felt extremely uncomfortable and I don’t think he even noticed that nor he cared.

I was in for my first visit. When examining me I started to ask some prewritten questions. His comment was "I hope you don't have too many questions I have a lot of other patients to see." I was shocked at the comment but quickly went through my questions. I have an appliance he took out but never put back in. The receptionist apologized putting the appliance in a plastic bag. The gel used was never wiped off getting all over my cloths. He talks fast with a strong accent so I was unable to fully understand everything he said. I don't want this man calling me to try to get me to remove this review.

I would say this doctor did not have passionate for his proffesion. Rather than do observations first, he did low conclusions to the patient, even worse he did not take examinations to you. Really not recommend for his service at all.

As an European, I am used to excellent medical quality service being provided, but I found that I was getting pretty desperate from the lack of answers and help I was receiving from other 5 doctors. Then I came to Dr. Marinescu, who discovered the problem right away. I had endometriosis, pretty large polyp and fibroid. He was very polite and treated me with respect. He was professional and fixed the problem with minimally invasive surgery, and I was home the same day. I only regret that I didn’t find him sooner, and didn’t waste my time with those other hack jobs. It would have saved me 2 years of unbearable pain and suffering. Dr. Marinescu cares about his patients, and not about himself or money, as other doctors do. He explains everything and makes sure that patients receive the treatment and care they need. I know that for any future needs for a gynecologist I may have, Dr. Marinescu will be the doctor I visit first and foremost. Thank you very much Dr. Marinescu for everything!

I’ve already referred two family members and will be referring more soon! Dr M. is very kind, patient thorough and extremely helpful to obtain services and explains them in detail to make you feel comfortable and confident in your personal decisions. His staff is friendly, helpful, and very efficient with office paperwork, referrals, denials, appeals, state paperwork, and anything else you may ask of them. After surgery, Dr M was available to me 24/7. I highly recommend Dr M. and his staff

Best OBGYN I have ever been to, genuinely cares for his patients, is highly knowledgeable and a skilled surgeon.

I found Dr. Marinescu on Healthgrade in 2015. He is by far the best GYN I've ever had. After getting nowhere with my previous GYN, Dr. Marinescu was able to diagnose all my issues and performed a hysterectomy. He's an amazing surgeon and takes the time to explain everything. You can't even tell I had surgery, the minimal scarring has faded. Great bedside manner and sense of humor. His staff is amazing as well.

Dr. Marinescu is wonderful.He was my DR during my entire pregnancy w/my 2nd baby& had some scary moments (bleeding during term, pain etc). Because I was 34 we had to make sure all was good with me &baby boy.I thank God for his patience, care& understanding. He is kind& very knowledgeable. I appreciated the girls in office- they were always professional &friendly. I ended up having a c-sect and was nervous but he reassured me &a great surgeon. Aftercare was excellent too. Referred many bc of it.

I picked Dr. Marinescu after doing a thorough research. It was my first pregnancy and I wanted only the best care my baby and I could get. He was amazing right from the start. He was able to calm my nerves, would take no time to answer my questions (which as I look back now,seem silly), was thorough, and everything I could ask for. I always looked forward seeing him. Now that I am pregnant again, with no hesitation, he's going to be my OB again!

From the 1st appointment with Dr. Marinescu I knew I made the right choice. He is professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. He has impressive surgical experience. I had robotic hysterectomy with pelvic reconstruction. I am ecstatic with the results. Before surgery I had severe pelvic pain and bleeding. After the robotic surgery I felt no pain, no discomfort. One month later I cannot believe my old pain is gone. I feel I got a fresh start in life. I got my life back! Thank you Dr. Marinescu!

I had been to several OBGYNs in the last 5 years trying to get help with my symptoms. Dr Marinescu was able to instill the trust in me that I had lost with other M.D.s. He performed a hysterectomy on me 6 weeks ago and I couldn't have had a better experience. Absolutely little to no pain from the procedure! He is knowledgeable, kind and a highly skilled surgeon and I highly recommend him.

I am grateful for finding Dr. Marinescu. He is direct, no sugar coating time-wasting joking-laughing to hide lack of knowledge. I have been seen twice, I had all the tests done including then I had the surgery which changed my life. The same hysterectomy with suspension I learned from my acquaintances it can be a terrible experience, was like a walk in the park for me. I am a very busy business owner and I appreciate the truth as I see it, I totally think that is the way surgeons should be.

If you are looking for the one look no further. Before I even met Dr. Marinescu his welcoming staff greeted me with genuine excitement and very personable conversation. He is very smart, listens to all your concerns and explains everything simply. He is very patient, kind and honest. His communication is strong too, there is a patient portal you can review all your lab results and see the doctors notes. Over all, the best care I have ever had.

Second to none. I will certainly recommend him to all my lady friends.
