Off Balance
I went to Butler FastER Care for a suspected sinus infection. Dr. Yap entered the room in a foul mood and proceeded to tell me that I should be taking Sudafed. I have high blood pressure. I stated that I really can’t take Sudafed bc of high BP. She questioned me over and over of, “who said this to you?” “Did your Dr. say this?” Then stated that I needed to take a test. I asked what type of test and she rolled her eyes and didn’t want to explain why and what type of test and that she could only give steroids and then backtracked and said that I needed to just see my PCP and asked why I came there. In my professional opinion - I have worked with addicts who were more grounded and centered in conversations. It was like a bad Saturday Night Live skit. Just a very odd encounter. She started an argument for whatever purpose it served her - I removed the audience and she stormed out of the room. Bravo, BHS!

Unwilling to listen
I was clearly having an allergic reaction to medication I was on since I had a rash everywhere…my face, my neck, my head, stomach, arms, and legs. She thought it was possibly razor burn? Are you kidding me? Ummm this rash was even in my hair mind you! She clearly wasn’t listening to what I had to say so I once again pulled up my shirt then she realized it was indeed a rash. Wow is all I can say.

This woman jumped to conclusions, while trying to convince me that in less than a minute of knowing me, she knew my condition. She did not care what I had to say. She was more interested in telling me what she “knows”.

I have never in my life been talked down to by a physician, literally yelling at a sick patient. I was belittled and made to feel like a child. This woman should not be practicing medicine or needs to go back to school for patient etiquette. She was absolutely awful, walking out of the exam room only to tell me to wait for my papers. No explanation, how I should proceed, nothing. She didn’t even do a full exam. I hope that administration looks at these reviews because no professional who deals with the public should ever act the way she did with me.

I found her to be very professional. She answered my questions and treated me politely. This was at the Faster Care in Kittanning.

Dr. Yap listened to my concerns and examined my child carefully. She determined that while my child was ill, but what she had was viral and did not prescribe her a needless antibiotic which I greatly appreciated. Too many doctors give antibiotics just because parents demand them even though they do not work for viruses. Working in the medical profession I can appreciate a knowledgeable doctor that does not order tests or prescribe medications that are not medically necessary. Thank you Dr Yap!

My rating of a 1 Star is a generous gift Dr Yap. My daughter saw Dr. Yap at Butler Faster Care in Butler today. Dr. Yap questioned why my daughter came to the Faster Care instead of our PCP, only checked one ear when my daughter explained that her ears were popping and painful, didn’t listen to her lungs or breathing when her Pulse ox reading at the office was a 92% and had a fever of 102, and reprimanded her for waiting 2 weeks before being seen. Butler Health System...review this dr!!

She is very unprofessional in handling patients making them feel uncomfortable by scaring the patient of some serious illness when in fact it is a simple one. She gave a wrong diagnosis to my friend's brother in law good thing they seek a second opinion. Considereing she almost failed her medical board in a 3rd world country it is not surprising.

Dr. Yap is very unprofessional and disrespectful. She rolls her eyes and makes faces/gestures right in front of you. Has no compassion or sympathy. I was seen at the Faster Care in Kittanning, PA for suspected Lymes disease. I was directed there by my PCP because they did not have an opening there, Yap questioned why I even thought it was okay to go to the Faster Care for a tick bite/possible Lymes disease.
