No appointments available. Do not choose this Dr.
Do not choose this Doctor. She has way too many patients and her nurse is mean and rude. Dr. Smallwood was very nice on my initial visit but when I became sick a few months later I tried to schedule an appointment online and the first appointment available was not until May 2024! It is now October 2023. I sent a message via my chart telling them how ill I was and 24 hours later, after no response, I called the office. They said there were no available appointments with Dr Smallwood at all but I see nurse practitioner next week. This would be in a week! I asked to speak to the nurse and she was short, mean, and rude. I ended up in an urgent care and have switched doctors.

Doesn't Listen
Dr Smallwood doesn't really listen. I asked for a script for OCCASIONAL insomnia to take only AS NEEDED. Instead she switched my BP med to take daily that makes you sleep...Daily! How does this help me when I work during the day!? I repeatedly asked her not to prescribe a BP med that causes sleep & I need a separate script for OCCASIONAL insomnia. She kept prescribing different BP meds that cause sleep Daily. She got upset with me regarding her lack of ability to listen, so I switched Dr. LOL

The BEST Doctor
Being new to GA I was apprehensive about finding a new primary care doctor. I am SO grateful I found Dr. Smallwood. She is thorough, kind, on time, and shows her genuine care in my wellbeing--both physical and mental. I can't harp on her kindness and bedside manner enough. She's the best doctor I've ever had and I hope I never have to find another one! She is hard to get in to see, but always worth the wait.

Terrible. Dr Smallwood failed to show up for two confirmed appointments a year apart. Her staff is tired of covering for her unprofessional behavior.
