Dr. Carmen Stelea, MD

I saw Dr Stelea during the height of COVID, and had heard good things about her from other patients so I was looking forward to the visit. Immediately came off as rude, making constant comments about my weight. Any problem I brought up was promptly discounted as "you're too young to have any health issues, so it's just because you weigh too much.". If she'd looked through any of my medical records she had recieved, she would've seen that there are hereditary joint/muscle pain issues in my family and that I have a chronic injury on one of my hips! Even with weight being a small problem, she WOULD NOT tell me how much I should've aimed to lose no matter how much I asked. Just "i don't care how much, just lose weight". I have a history with an eating disorder, and mental health problems as well and she got very verbally abusive about those too. I could go on about all the issues I had with her. She's awful unless she deems you thin enough and therefore worthy of her time.

I can not say enough bad things about my experience with Dr. Stelea and her office. I have never met the doctor, but her staff is the worst I have ever dealt with and I feel that she is the same. I have two parents on hospice and needed to apply for FMLA. My father's doctor had the paperwork back to me with 72 hours filled out correctly. It took my mother's doctor, Dr. Stelea's office FOUR WEEKS to even start the paperwork. Keep in mind, the form is literally 1/1/2 pages long and many answers are yes/no. I left many voice mails asking when I would have the paperwork back and received no calls back. When I finally did get a call, again, after FOUR WEEKS, I was asked how I wanted the form filled out. I was livid! Have they never completed this form before? My father's doctor managed to fill out the form without asking for my input. It's really not hard. Dr. Stelea was extremely thorough in each appointment I had with her. Her diagnosis of an illness led to me getting my life back. The illness has resolved with her treatment. She is so knowledgeable about medical issues. My cardiologist also said to me that she is a highly reputable doctor. I would definitely recommend her to others.

First visit with Dr. Stelea today.. She was very thorough despite not having received my medical records from previous primary MD. Attentive and set me up with referral to specialist and a plan for future care..She offered options that I can follow or not..Unlike my previous doctor who was pushy and condescending..Will definitely go back for six month follow up.

I must admit this Is the worst doctor visit experience I ever had in my entire life. This is my first visit with Dr.Carmen Stelea and I ended up seeing her because I couldn’t reschedule my physical with my regular PCP with pro health. The experience was very unpleasant beyond explanation. She came across as rude, unprofessional and failed to address the need of the patient. She also shocked by asking nasty sarcastic questions about my nationality and personal life. While I do not know much about her medical skills, It is very apparent that she need to be taught social skills and how to treat a patient with dignity. This is my first and last visit with Dr. Carmen Stella and this practice. I made a decision to switch back to my old PCP. I recommend everyone to stay away from her and don’t become a victim.

During my first appointment (routine physical), she was just beginning her career with Starling and she spent considerable time learning about me and my health history. She seemed quite knowledgeable about medicine. During my second appointment (in response to a minor sickness), she was more at ease but quite thorough in diagnosing my symptoms.

Zero bedside manner. Very short and not easy to talk to.
