First rate doctor
Dr. Picone has been my pulmonologist for many years. He is also my primary care doctor. I feel he has kept me as healthy as I can be. When I've had medical problems over the years, he has quickly and effectively solved them. On many occasions, I've consulted him while traveling or even while living outside the Washington DC area. He has either given me the solution or referred me to other excellent specialists who've seen me promptly at his prompting. When I've had moving parts issues requiring surgery, he has put me in contact with the appropriate and best specialists and helped me make the right decisions. He has excellent communication skills and a wonderful sympathetic manner. He also runs an efficient and helpful office. I could not be happier with the medical care I am receiving from Dr. Picone and his concierge practice.

Great Doctor Who Saved My Life
Dr. Picone has been my primary care physician for nearly 4 years. Two days after I joined Dr. Picone's practice, I was out of state and walking to a restaurant, when I nearly keeled over at hit the ground. When I called Dr. Picone and described the experience he suspected the possibility of a brain tumor and arranged for a CT Scan and an MRI immediately upon my return to Washington. As a result of his quick and insightful thinking, I had a craniotomy within 2 weeks of my diagnosis and returned to a normal life in a period of a few months. Since then, Dr. Picone has supervised all of my medical care, keeping me on track for follow-up MRIs and other medical procedures. My annual physicals with him have been great and he is always accessible when I have questions or concerns. I think he is a great doctor, who I have recommended to friends to have similar opinions about his professional competence and 'bedside manner.'

A Smart Decision
Asking Carlos Picone to be my primary physician was a smart decision. He has been dedicated to making sure I have the best care. He is at the top of his game in his specialty and has broad medical knowledge and skills in general. Dr. Picone is well-established and so has relationships with other top notch medical specialists with whom he is able to collaborate. The service delivered by his staff has been excellent.

Disappointing
Recently Dr. Picone saw me at Suburban Hosp in MD & the experience was worst I've had in nearly 30 years of pulmonary care. Words fail to describe his bedside manner: Arrogant, condescending, impatient, & with a grand sense of entitlement as if he was doing me a favor by by consulting in my case. Never have I had to ask too see another MD until I crossed paths with Dr. Picone.

I’m genuinely surprised to see how different my experience was here from so many others who have posted reviews. I’ve never posted a negative review of a doctor before, but I feel it’s important that people have this information. In my experience, this doctor gave me very little opportunity to speak, contradicted everything I told him, and suggested that an anxiety-related condition had been misdiagnosed by “hospitals” as asthma when I’ve been seeing pulmonologists for my asthma for 14 years. He did not have my records yet and I had barely spoken in our meeting, yet he confidently declared (based on my lung function that specific day) that my case was totally simple (“nuts and bolts”). It is, in fact, not at all simple, and has challenged multiple excellent physicians before him, all of whom also recommended allergy shots, which he claimed were only effective in a few people, and strongly discouraged me from getting despite my explaining to him that I had success with shots in the past

Horrible, horrible. His bedside manners are terrible. His attitude is arrogant , treats patients like trash. His wait times are long and he never apologizes for being late. Don’t go there!! Look for a well mannered doctor who cares , he is definitely not one of them.

May 2020 : I am a medical doctor so I know fine docs . Dr Picone has been helping with a pulmonary issue and general medical issues. He is incredibly nice, well mannered, kind and wise. His medical skills are excellent. He is very responsive, thoughtful, and through. He takes time to address your individual needs. I particularly like his concierge practice. It costs a bit more but you get much more back in terms of very individualized and fast care. This doc gets an A+ in patient service and medical skills. A+ for concierge paractice A+ staff ......Howard Sachs MD

Dr. Picone is terrific. He communicates well in person and over email. He is quick with email responses. He helped me escalate and resolve issues with insurance authorizations and get in with additional providers quickly. I would recommend him to friend or family member.

Excellent doctor. He treats the patient as a person and take the time to discuss any concern of the patient even not related specifically to the issue he is treating, suggesting new medications that work much better than the ones taking for years (this is what happen to me with my high pressure medicine he suggested me to change), recommending other life style changes to improve the health. I travel 50 miles in rush DC traffic to get to his office, but it is totally worth if you care about your health. I am already recommending Dr. Picone to family and friends.

Dr. Picone began as my pulmonologist and treated my lung condition with the minimum medications for the maximum benefit. He clearly explains my condition and treatment. In addition, Dr. Picone always took the time to inquire about and discuss other medical conditions I was experiencing. Unique. When my primary care physician retired I leaped at the chance to join Dr. Picone's new SignatureMD (boutique) medical practice. I am delighted with his care and enjoy his upbeat personality.
