Overlooked signals of ovarian cancer and yelled!
I would suggest finding another doctor if you value your health and well-being. Three years ago, Dr. Douglass, after being my PCP for 10 years, overlooked my symptoms of ovarian cancer and yelled at me repeatedly in her office, while my husband was with me. Shortly thereafter, I ended up in the ER hemoraghing from Stage 4 ovarian cancer. I survived two years of surgery and chemotherapy, no thanks to her. She attributed my complaints to my getting older.

A big fat NO to "doctor" Douglas
I have not met her personally but this person has been my elderly mother's "doctor" for several years. During this time I have heard many negative reports from my mother and other family members who have been with my mother on visits, about her incompetence as a physician, her terrible bedside manner, and her rushed manner of seeing her patients. I would not use this one as a veterinarian.

I felt hurried and rushed like she couldn't take the time for "the rest of the story". I had multiple things going on, one was addressed and the rest dismissed. I will not be going back.

Bizarre exchange
The negative reviews here are not overstated. I experienced the rudeness, arrogance, lack of care first hand. She wasn’t always like this, maybe just in a bad place right now?? Anyway, I would steer clear as she obviously doesn’t want to be bothered with patients. I left my appointment confused about what had just happened!

Lazy
Lazy doctor and never acts like she is personally interested in you. If you just need a yearly visit I guess she’s fine but if you require anything beyond that she’s awful.

Extremely condescending and rude and without any provocation. I've never experienced a doctor like this before. I would change but with all the Covid issues out there right now, I can't find anyone who is accepting new patients. I'm just trying to stay way from her as much as possible until I can switch.

My grandma had to see Douglass and it was for something very serious. During that time, my grandma wanted to FaceTime my mom and aunt to help her understand what would be said. Douglass was VERY rude to my grandma and my mother and aunt. Douglass acted as if she did not care to listen or discuss what was going on and we feel as if she made quick assumptions about things and didn’t really care to find out ways to help my grandma. I would describe her rapport and body language as arrogant and dismissive.

I love Dr. Douglass! She is also my mother’s doc, and I started seeing her this year. I feel like she listens attentively and offers multiple solutions for problems, and I understand completely when she needs to leave the room. Her office is easy to call and deal with, and I would highly recommend her as a primary care doctor.

She is not a diagnostician. I told her I had upper abdominal pain. She touched my stomach in three places and said it felt fine. Found another doctor. He thoroughly examined my abdomen and found tenderness under my right rib cage. Ordered a HIDA scan. My gallbladder is not functioning and needs to be removed. So Dr. Douglas missed an important diagnosis because she seemed to not want to examine me thoroughly.

Dr Douglass’ Office just worked to get me in for a sore throat! And thank goodness because it was strep! With the prescribed meds I’m hoping to be singing in the choir for Easter! Dr Douglass is always so personable and never fails to ask if I have anything else I want to ask while I’m there. A wonderful caring doctor!

I have been with Dr. Douglas for 3 years now. I am not a doctor person, but so glad I found her. I see her every year without a fight and it's like no time has passed. She helped me find the right doctor for a serious issue she figured out. She is kind with terrific bedside manner. Answers any questions I have & her staff is right on top of things. We are about the same age so I look forward to growing old with her. haha

1st visit, appt at 2pm was out by 2:02. Only hands on was a quick scope to lungs (on my back only) after asking me to take 1 deep breath. I've been a smoker for 45 yrs! No additional exam. I mentioned I was due for a lung CT and a mammography which the office did make referrals for. When I checked out I was told the Dr. didn't wanted to see me for a year so I guess she will not be reviewing my test results with me. I will be checking to make sure this is not billed as a wellness physical.

Dr. Douglass has been my primary health care provider since 2012. I feel very comfortable with her, and she is always willing to answer my questions and address my concerns. I came to her after another doctor in her practice retired after seeing me for 35 years, and I have become increasingly comfortable with her the more that I have seen her. A very caring individual. I would recommend.

I feel so very fortunate to have Dr. Douglass as my physician. I have been seeing her for about a year now and she is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. If there is any type of emergency they get me in right away. I have never been rushed through the office, she takes plenty of time explaining everything, and is very proactive in providing preventative care as well. We are lucky to have her here in Hendersonville !!!

A get in and get out doctor. For one looking to establish trust and a relationship of support from thier Dr. to help them advocate for personal well being, this is probably not the right provider. If you need a place to show up and get a flue shot or prescription maybe this is the place.
