Dr. Calvin Tran, DO

Dr Tran is the worst doctor I've ever encountered. This is a man who kept me on a particular medicine that was over the legal limit. The legal limit is 800 mg & he kept me on 900 mg despite pleas from myself & even my primary physician to take me off this medicine completely, that had proven not only ineffective 4 me in the past but completely counterproductive w devastating side effects. But NOTHING would get him to change. The 900 mg had my hours going around the clock. I was waking up past 4pm & unable to get out of bed until after 6pm. I was waking up at 8pm., 10pm., 2am. He knew this yet tried 2 tell me to take my meds at 5am & lay down to go to sleep at 7am. My primary overruled that crazy idea. I had headaches every single day & needed to eat extra strength pain med like candy I was suffering so bad but he refused 2 change. Finally, my primary told me to stop seeing him and to leave him in the past. I was not allowed to ever mention his name in my primary physician's office!

I'm glad I did NOT read the 2 reviews that have been written because I might have canceled. I have a complex diagnosis and I have seen quite a few quacks. Dr. Tran made me feel very hopeful. I immediately got a good vibe off of him. I struggle clicking with new drs and I think he could sense my anxiety. He slowed it down so I was able to regroup and get through the appointment feeling like someone had listened to what I had today and didn't minimize my concerns. He went through my medications and made sure that all of them would work together without any complications. He never made me feel like I wasn't in control. He made sure I understood everything. Dotted every 'I' and crossed every 'T' before I leaving. I didn't feel like I he was picking medications based off of the fancy swag bags he might have been given by some drug rep. More patient care versus fun trinkets!

The worst doctor I've ever seen, He doesn't listen to anything from the patient, it's his way or no way. I've been battling depression,anxiety,ptsd and insomnia for decades and I know which meds work and which ones don't, every appointment I had he would change my prescriptions taking away the ones that work and putting me on the ones that don't, I told him more times than I can count that I was circling the drain and I know the warning signs and the signs were front and center He didn't care that I was struggling. I had a meltdown on a Sunday so I sent a few messages pleading for him to help me my anxiety and insomnia were so bad and I hadn't slept for days and I felt like I was going to snap, I never heard from him until weeks later at my appointment He said ' what do you want me to do about it ' Then he said that I was like the boy who cried wolf' I asked him if there was anything that would help me sleep and he automatically shut me down. He has no empathy, he's got a god complex

He repeatedly interrupted me. He aggresively misdiagnosed me. He prescribed an extremely expensive, off-label drug that wasn't proven to help my real condition or my misdiagnosed condition. According to Dollars for Docs, he had frequent meetings with sales reps for this drug in the last two years—20-30 times. He also misrepresented information about its risks. Had I checked his reviews earlier, I wouldn't have chosen him. Even as a last resort, I wouldn't consider him.
