Horrible bed side manner
I went to the ER in excruciating pain. I had 4 doctors tell me what they thought it was. But dr Charny never came and saw me and decided well “maybe it’s something else so go home” well I went home and pain got worse. Went back to ER in the middle of the night. Turns out there was a blood test that could have been done to confirm it. Confirmed what I was originally told. He did the surgery he did a very rough exam that caused a lot of pain and was very short and seemed annoyed with me the whole time. After surgery I never saw him again. Good surgeon but avoid if you want someone who cares and has bed side manner.

Dr. Charney performed emergency hernia repair surgery for me at Greenwich Hospital. He was thorough in his explanations and his bedside manner was very good. Moreover, the surgery was performed in such a manner that I was able to resume all activities two weeks after surgery, for an open-mesh surgery repair of an inguinal hernia. Can’t say enough great things.

I was referred to Dr Charny after going to Urgent Are at Westmed Ridge Hill. I was suffering from gallstones. Had an appointment to see him two days later. Four days later, Dr Caleb removed my gallbladder. Surgery was a success. Follow-up went excellent.

I read the above reviews and almost decided to change doctors but am very happy that i used my own impression of him and went ahead with the gall bladder surgery. Excellent doctor who listened and explained everything. I hope i don’t have to but i would definitely choose him again.

After procrastinating for almost a year on my gallbladder removal I’m now relieved to have finally undergone the procedure. The recovery is smooth and I can barely see the incision points. Thank you Dr. Charny!

Absolutely horrible Dr. I went to him in so much pain and he refused to do anything to help me. He told me it was a personal choice and he wasn't going to do it. He is arrogant and has ZERO empathy. I was crying in his office asking him to help and he didnt care one bit. I don't know how hes still practicing. He told me that the antibiotics I was on weren't working and wanted to put me in the hospital for a week. Now I was only on the antibiotics for 36 hours at this point and he did no tests on

Absolutely horrible doctor in my opinion. Not to go into detail but surprised as my experience w/westmed docs has been good overall... His uncertainty was enough for me not to want to have anything to do w/him. wouldn't trust this surgeon to operate on me in anyway... I almost walked out of the appointment it was that bad. Some doctors need to listen more to their patients and actually take the time to do their job and figure out the root of a problem...

I have been a patient of Dr Charny on two different occasions and both times , he has been excellent . He also has a calm and gentle manner in consultations and prior to surgery. Thanks for your expertise in serving me as your patient . Kind regards , Jacqueline.
