I’ve been seeing Dr. Strother for a little over 2 years and he’s not your average psychiatrist. He’s caring, thoughtful, kind and truly interested in what’s happening in your life and helping. He’s a true gem in the psych world- nothing but good things to say about him.

I was Dr Strother's therapy patient. He told me about the transition in an appt. Of course I didn't want to lose him but also understood it was all going to happen very quickly. Couldn't imagine how one closes down quickly a large medical practice and the logistics had to be overwhelming. Noticed in last 20 years MD's have become far more mobile. I'm just glad I ever met Dr Strother who was the one to finally diagnose and treat me accurately. I wish him the best.

Went to my appointment with a letter on the front door informing patients that the office in Morganton was closed, after stating he would keep it open when asked! The letter also stated that patients were called, which I was not as others were not, and a letter was sent out which I have yet to receive! So now patients are having to find another psychiatrist at last minute. I find this really appalling and completely unjust for a medical doctor!

I love this man. He changed my life, literally. I got my BS in Psychology to try to understand my disease and after four years I never could put it together until I spoke with him. I was like talking to a friend. He is compassionate and understanding and doesn't talk down to you like some of these other M.D.s' that have a god complex. If you are suffering with a mental illness that you cannot get control of with some LCSW who knows nothing about brain chemistry, go see this man.
