Dr. Bruno Cotter, MD

Dr. Bruno was not as helpful as we had hoped during my post-surgery recovery. When I sought more detailed information about the healing process and the estimated timeline for returning to work, Dr. Bruno's responses were brief and lacked the level of care and attentiveness we expected. His bedside manner left much to be desired, and did not feel supported during these critical follow-up visits. This has been especially concerning given the seriousness of the surgery, as we were relying on Dr. Bruno for thorough guidance in the aftercare process. Unfortunately, we are now considering alternative care, which is a difficult and unsettling decision to make at this stage. Overall, we are very disappointed with the recent experience.

Dr. Cotter viewed me as a statistic, he showed no interest in me as a person. He offered no information or education about my new cardiac condition as he filled in his computer program with his notes which when I later read them said he checked out some parts of my body which he actually did not and that is very concerning. He also wrote a very expensive Rx without saying what its effect and cost may be. I cannot recommend him as I will seek another cardiologist who will show at least some concern about their patient as well as being a good diagnostician. I see he is now a full professor but as such does not present as a caring physician about his patients and therefore not a good representative for quality of care from UCSD.
