Dr. Bruce Vest, MD

Very personable. He explained everything to my understanding. He displayed my exrays and explained what I was seeing and how he would treat my problem. He asked me if I understood and went on to answer my questions. I recommend Dr. Vest to anyone in need of orthopedic care. My husband was impressed by his thorough explainations and his plan of care.

Dr Vest himself is a fantastic doctor in my opinion. However, the receptionist is incompetent and rude. Previously, on my last visit, she told me that my insurance was not accepted and that I'd have to make a payment. She suggested that I call my insurance. I did call. They told me that they only denied it because they had no idea how much they had to pay, because it was filled wrong. The lady gave instructions on what needed to be done. I let my insurance rep speak to the receptionist and explain what she needed to do. The receptionist received a number to call to submit the bill properly. The receptionist handed ME the number and said "There you go. Call them. Welcome to my world". I called and could not speak to a human because it was asking for PROVIDER ID which, of course, the receptionist had, but I have no idea what that is. I explained this to her and she just said that I'd had the same problem that she would? Does she not know the information she is supposed to know for billing? This all resulted in me being coerced into a payment of 200 that i SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO PAY! The receptionist herself knew that my insurance was more than willing to pay the bill in entirety, she just didn't want to do her one job. I went back today and she tried it again! I told her that Brightway Imaging had to do the same thing and they had no problem at all. I paid NOTHING for my MRI because those people knew what they had to do after I told them what the deal was. This person is rude, snide and either completely incompetent or just completely unwilling to do her job. At the expense of the patients.

Dr Vest has done several surgeries on me, back, arm, knees. After the surgeries I have felt so much better. He is so kind & patient. I value him as the best dr/surgeon .

I've been satisfied with the level of care and surgical results. Also of note: a good number of people in Dr Vest's office have been there since I started seeing him in 2013. I like the continuity that signifies and the general atmosphere in the office.

Dr Vest is the utmost when it comes to kind and compassionate care. His staff is second to none and truly care about the patients.

Dr Vest has seen my husband for a broken ankle and knee pain. He had nothing but good results. When I was given 6-hours of tests at the ER and an “Unknown diagnosis” I went to Dr Vest. Yes, I had to wait some due to the volume of patients that are there because he is an excellent doctor, and isn’t that what we want? When I gave him details on the ER and my pain, he immediately went to work getting X-rays and shots to give me relief, and PT that has given me exit from the horrible condition I went there with. Just knowing what I had so I could adjust to a new path of taking care of myself was a tremendous burden off my mind. The PT I had was very instrumental in getting me to walk without screaming in pain. My husband thought I should see a rheumatologist for a second opinion. That turned into a whole new story. After seeing him, I decided to stay with the doctor that had cared about ME, Dr Vest. I am very happy to give an excellent rating!!

Have been treated for two broken bones and 2 knee replacements. Could not give higher praise. If you have a problem it's "come in now" not "we can get you in in three weeks". Care is thorough, friendly, and timely. Grat follow-up.

He sat me down and really listened to my issues, the xrays didnt tell us what we needed to know so we did an mri, he went over injections and the possibility of the surgery, i decided to go with the surgery after he explained my risks and %chance of being healed. Dr. Vest really cares he and his staff always do a thourough evaluation of me any time im in office, and they never rush away when i have questions. Im 5 days into recovery and i feel great. Dr.vest and the OSF staff also really went to bat to help get all these costs covered through my insurance. I would recommend Dr. Vest to anybody whos dealing with issues he can treat. This is a great doctor with fantastic staff and alot of expertise in what he does. 6 stars

Horrible place wait time 1-2 HOURS Dr. doesn't really answer concerns and just drags on injections and more injections and more mri's after saying surgery would be best on first visit

Wait was LONG in his office and waiting room, that was large, was packed. I was injured on the job and he was the only option given me to see. In agony, he followed the hospitals workmans comp doctors recommendations encouraging me to return to work. I tried but was unable to work. Finally my general practitioner sent a fax to my employer explaining I was unable to work & sought a second opinion. I found that I was at risk for being paralyzed from my injury. He did NOT do my spinal fusion

Dr Vest and all office staff are very personable and professional. I feel welcome and important when I visit or call the office. I have had Dr Vest perform two different procedures and recovered very quickly from both. For a third procedure, he recommended a specialist in St. Louis. I was not satisfied with feeling like a little fish in a big pond. I like the personal care I get from Dr Vest and his staff, and do not wish to go elsewhere for my care!

Dr. Vest is one of the best. He did my next surgery and has taken care of the broken bones in my foot. He is kind and understanding, although not very talkative. We had a lot of problems findingthe right medications for me because I am allergic to so many. He never once made me feel it was my fault. All he wanted was for me to get well. I have also done physical therapy at his facilities and everyone there was so kind and caring. I would and have recommended him to my friends.

Had both shoulders operated on one in Dec 2011, one in Feb 2015 and there both worse now than before my surgeries.

I think it is cheap that they charge $20 for each form needed to be filled out by the physician.
