Needing Mohs surgery on my eyelid was terrifying, but Dr. Nelson & his staff guided me through the entire process providing top notch care. His expertise, detailed explanations, and kind demeanor, made me feel confident & knew I had made the right choice. His staff is also wonderful, knowledgeable and very caring. I think they're miracle workers... I walked in a nervous wreck and somehow they made the experience so easy on me. Forever grateful, as Dr. Nelson really is the very best!

Dr. Nelson did my second Mohs surgery 3 weeks ago. I went back to him for this because he did such a good job on my previous surgery (no visible scar). It healed quickly and well. I recommend him highly!

Dr Nelson, his nurse Karla, and the entire staff, are kind, caring, polite, patient, and super good at what they do. Dr Nelson even walked me to the lab next door when I needed blood work. When you call, you actually get a human being, and the staff promptly return calls. This is health care at its best.

I have been going to Dr. Nelson for several years. It started with a nose cancer that required a skin graft from my arm onto my nose. That surgery was a complete success and is not visible today. since that first visit, I have continued to return for yearly checkups. Great doctor and great staff.

With a history of melanoma, I wouldn’t want any other dermatologist except Bruce Nelson. He is thorough and professional - all while making you feel at ease with his incredibly engaging personality. He makes himself available day or night. We feel he has the knowledge, experience, compassion, and last but not least, humor to make him an incredible doctor. On top of him being the best, his staff is also amazing. All throughout the office you are treated with care and respect. No doctor should underestimate the power of their staff. He obviously treats them right. In these 24 years of frequent visits, never have I had an unpleasant encounter in his office.

After losing my dermatologist to cancer, I have searched for one with the same caring and expertise as the last. After 3 other tries, Dr. Nelson has brought me home again. Humor, mixed with education, mixed with patience, is the perfect remedy, regardless of the ailment. I will more than recommend, I will advocate for this practice. We need far more of these types of physicians that put patient wellness, not profit, as their priority.

Dr Nelson truly cares about his patients. He takes time to explain everything to you and to answer any questions you may have. He also takes time to know know you to make you feel more comfortable. I recently visited Dr. Nelson who has diagnosed, treated and monitored various skin cancers I have experienced over the past years. Dr. Nelson has removed patches of pre-cancerous Actinic Keratosis and has expertly performed tedious surgical procedures to skillfully remove Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinomas from my ears and from other parts of my body. I consider myself fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Nelson and to have access to such excellent professional care. Dr. Nelson runs a first-class clinic and is always on time for his appointments. His office staff and medical assistants, especially Elizabeth, are always professional, compassionate and pleasant. I’m very grateful.

EXCELLENT!! I had a basal cell spot that had been ignored by several dermatologists -until Dr. Amanda Hassler caught it. This could have been a mess; the spot was on my cheek very close to my orbital socket - I'll let you imagine how this could have gone. My sister went with me to the appointment and were immediately put at ease after meeting Dr. Nelson and his staff. Frankly, this review will never cover all of the wonderful things I have to say about them. Dr. Nelson is informative, kind and a brilliant surgeon. The results were nothing short of miraculous.

Dr, Nelson is knowledgeable and current on procedures and research in Dermatology and Surgery, if needed. Additionally his experience is widely known and is demonstrated in his procedures and patient recovery. His office Staff is professional and empathetic, which clearly flows from the top of this office, Dr. Nelson. Patient education and follow-up is first rate, and Dr. Nelson even checks on patients by phone after discharge. On top of it all, he is very kind.

Dr. Nelson performed Mohs surgery on my leg about 5 years ago, which healed beautifully, and recently had a Mohs surgery on my hand. He and his Front Office Staff, Lab, and Nurses are over and above excellent medical professionals and so warm and caring. I’ve been to many Dermatologists in Houston over many years and he is without a doubt, the absolute best.His office is busy but is managed extremely well. My wait time has always been minimal and he and staff are caring and patient, every visit. I highly recommend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bruce Nelson for several years. He is without question the best doctor I have ever had. He not only is a superb dermatologist with superior expertise but he goes beyond this to provide overall medical care. I came in for my 6 month scan and he noticed an area on my face. He suspected it might be a parotid gland tumor. He immediately called an otolaryngologist oncologist friend of his and go me in to see her within a week. It turned out to indeed by a parotid gland tumor (benign) and was removed. This is indicative of the total care Dr. Nelson provides for his patients. He has a great sense of humor as well! I would highly recommend Dr. Nelson for your dermatology care.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Nelson, for an exam an possible removal of a cist on my ear and a small growth on my head. He examined me, made a decision to take biopsies, and removed the cist.His work was excellent and I was called within a few days with the results of the biopsies.

I’m 62 and just experienced one of the best medical journeys one can go on. I was diagnosed with skin cancer. My wife found Dr. Nelson on the internet. After signing up and getting pre approval we had received his personal cell number. Living outside the US and 9 hr time difference we could reach him directly and get answer with in hours sometimes. Let’s not forget the staff they’re all great but kudos go out to Betty and Carla. Let’s hope he doesn’t retire any time soon.

Thorough examinations, skilled surgeon and caring physician. Most of his staff has been with him for many years and that tells a lot about the doctor and how he runs his office. He always call the evening after the surgery to see how I am doing. I recommend him to my friends.
