Headache and Migraines Help
I had no clarity on what I needed to do for my chronic migraine. In fact for years I had no idea it was migraine. Thanks to a wonderful ENT I got directed to migraine treatment. Dr Madden was a good listener and welcoming from the start. I feel very comfortable with her and we have worked through multiple medications now. I am not responding well to the usual ones but she has encouraged me that we will find the right fit eventually. I feel like we are consistently working towards progress though. This is a journey and she set me up for that day 1. Everyone’s bodies are different and respond differently.

What do you have PTSD or something?
Dr. Madden was incredibly rude to me my entire appointment and after several minutes of knowing me was convinced i do not have epilepsy. I was grilled on syptoms as if I’m the one who has a degree. I came in with a migraine and sat for an hour to be berrated at best and at worst scoffed at for having childhood trauma.

Not good at treating patients with epilepsy
I have seen Dr. Madden in the past, but had chosen not to continue care with her. I respect her as a professional as an MD, but she is NOT knowledgeable with epilepsy. Last time I saw her, she asked me what medication I should or want to be on. I see her bio now says she has only a “ fellowship” with epilepsy, and therefore not fully trained for this. This makes sense. Her bedside manner with me had been awful, didn’t feel she understood my epilepsy and therefore made me feel like I was crazy for asking questions, and made me feel ridiculous for looking into better medication or treatment that could improve my life- living with this unfortunate disorder that the medical community does not care about.

Not a headache specialist! Unable to come up with treatment that actually helped chronic intractable pain, after many months of office visits. Her attention to the computer, and lack of verbal communication was uncomfortable during visits.
