Worst Medical Experience of My Life
My experience with Dr. Phipps and Animas Orthopedic has been a nightmare. From the very start when he told me I needed a hip replacement on a joint that had never hurt me, to the the three years of chronic and debilitating pain the surgery has caused, it has easily been the worst medical experience of my life. And I've had a few.To begin with the frustrating but less important problems, their office is a scattered mess and never was able to return my calls or keep the ball rolling without constant harassment. They failed to set up the after surgery six month or one year check in's and did not respond to my messages asking to do so.The lack of professionalism went beyond countless phone calls and being ignored. The night before my surgery, when I had taken the week off work, shaved the area, and was fasting, they called to tell me they needed to reschedule my surgery a week later. This was hard to believe. It was even harder that their office continued To be opaque and unresponsive

Dr. Phipps did arthoscopic surgery on my knee to clean it up 8 years ago and have not had any problems since. He was very informative and answered all my questions to where I could understand what and why I need the procedure. He runs a very good practice. Thanks

While Dr. Phipps May have the technology and experience to perform various knee surgeries, that is not what makes a good doctor. From start to finish and thereafter, there should be an open line of communication. If a doctor only responds to you before the surgery and has nothing to do with you once he knows he is done with with you, that is totally unacceptable. Having a test over a month ago and not hearing from him as to the results is a disgrace. A behavior that I am sure he would not accept if it were him or a member of his family. There are many good doctors out there that can perform knee replacements. Be careful who you choose.

I had a new knee replacement and he totally took care of me. My surgery didn't take very long which was awesome. He was very informative about the procedure, the after care, and other information. If I wanted to get every detail of my surgery he would have given it. I just can't handle the information because it makes me sick. I have had my new knee for almost a year and it has been fantastic. I am extremely glad I went with Dr. Phipps.

Dr. Phipps and his staff do an excellent job of communicating throughout the surgery process. My recent knee replacement was the fifth successful surgery Dr. Phipps has done for four family members.

Dr Phipps is a high volume THR surgeon, with years of experience doing anterior surgeries using robotics when appropriate. He, together with hospital, has a zero infection rate for THR. I had an entirely positive THR procedure and rapid, nearly pain free, recovery. I found Dr Phipps to be not only a competent surgeon but a compassionate person. Anonymous reviews were not part of my research!

I had my hip replacement done by Dr. Phipps back in 2012. He came highly recommended. He has a great bedside manner and was not quick to judgement he weighs all options before recommending surgery. I just saw him yesterday for my knee. I find him compassionate, knowledgable and he always takes time to listen to my concerns and questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Phipps to anyone in need of a hip or knee replacement I have no issues to this day with my hip and feel it is better than ever

He has a fabulous reputation. However, as another person reported, it appears when things don't got exactly as planned, he cares not one iota for the patient. My issue was a simple phone call to the insurance company to explain why PT is not indicated in my case. Instead of scheduling and making that call, my surgery was cancelled 3 weeks prior to the surgery date after being scheduled 4 months. Office staff rarely returns calls. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Dr Phipps and his staff are fantastic. I had a total right knee replacement 3 weeks ago. Today, I'm walking with no assistance, climbing stairs and have a "range" of -10 to +120 on CPM. Dr Phipps used the Mako robot for my surgery and I can't say enough about how this fantastic tool in the hands of this skilled surgeon has resulted in my progress during rehab. My physical therapists continually remark about how far ahead my progress is. I highly recommend Dr Phipps!!

When my surgery went wrong,he showed no concern and would't even admit to it, although other specialists confirmed it. If he doe a good job, you are golden, if not don't expect anything from him.
