Disappointed and Not Helpful
After only trying just TWO different medications for treating Crohn’s, Dr. Wolfman was already pushing me off to see a different gastroenterologist in NYC because the medication he put me on was giving me rashes, skin infections, & not helping my stomach issues. Also, instead of simply suggesting different medications to try, since I’ve only tried 2 different kinds, Dr. Wolfman told me to “see a dermatologist” (because of the medication side-effects?) & then see a stomach specialist in NYC. Huh? After only trying 2 different medications on me?? My stomach issues aren’t all that complex that a medically trained gastroenterologist shouldn’t be able to figure out without having to push me off to other physicians (a dermatologist and a “special” doctor in NYC.) After this last follow-up visit with Dr. Wolfman, I absolutely DO NOT trust his judgment regarding what’s the best care for my gastrointestinal issues, and he actually did me a huge favor by proving that to me during my last visit.

So far any time I have met with him he was informative and listened. The nurse is great, scheduling is a bit of a pia but all offices for all specialists seem to be overwhelmed.

UPDATE: 4 weeks later I saw a surgeon; I do need my gallbladder removed. Dr. Wolfman was incompetent and misdiagnosed it as a "muscular skeletal" problem. Dr. Brian Wolfman was rude & condescending during the appointment. I had come in for general gastro intestinal issues and a concern over gallstones, with pain and vomiting. I was concerned about a gallbladder attack amongst other things. Every question I asked him, he would turn around on me in what appeared to be an attempt to try to make me look foolish or embarrass me (then he would not give ANY additional information, suggestion, etc.) For example, when I expressed concern about potentially having a gallbladder attack, he said, "What IS a gallbladder attack?". Offered NO additional information, suggestion, or anything. When I told him that I was concerned about the "sludge" and symptoms, he said: "30% of people have sludge. I treat patients not ultrasounds." Yes, he treats patients... terribly.

Excellent Dr. I've been going to Dr. Wolfman for years. Horrible staff communication. Tried calling for an appointment on Aug 10th. Got a recording to leave a message including, "Please don't leave multiple messages, your call will be returned by the end of the day". I left a message, name , number and DOB. They never called back. I waited and called 10 days later. Same thing. Nobody called back. A week later , I found a new doctor in a different group. I didn't want to, but I had no choice. Anyway, Dr. Basri is also excellent.

Dr Wolfman was easy to talk with and listened to me. I explained how I had gotten very ill from the anesthesia last time (a different doctor) and he explained that they could handle that (which they did). I also had no ill effects from the test and felt fine afterwards.
