hip exam appointment
Poor bedside manner. Walked in and said 'You need a hip replacement' No explanation of imaging results. Seemed bored and disconnected. Spent less than 7 minutes, No exam at all. Would have zero confidence having this doctor preform a surgery on my family member.

Office visit for right knee injury
Sept 11 24 He was non personal, non caring. He treated me as if I was a street drug addict looking for drugs when I asked for pain meds. Lied to me by telling me he would jeopardize his practice, my pain mgmt doctors practice and my chance of ever getting pain meds in the future if he prescribed me pain meds. He told me after he received the MRI results that my meniscus tear was minor, and that it would heal on its own. He offered no further directions on care. By the time I was able to see my primary doctor on 10-7 I had reinjured the knee 3 times.HE IS NOT SOMEONE I WOULD RECOMMEND

Bad experience
This doctor gave me all of five minutes. He misdiagnosed my condition due to the fact that he did not order an MRI. He said no break ( based on his x-rays) and the ankle was sprained. With some physical therapy I’d be fine. After 2 months and 2 follow up appointments with his NP ( never saw the doctor again after the original 5 minutes) I knew I wasn’t fine. Saw another doctor that was appalled that an MRI hadn’t been done immediately. The MRI revealed that I had two completely torn ligaments and surgery was required. Wouldn’t recommend this doctor at all. Wish zero stars was a choice.

Seemed uninterested and dismissive
Not great! Dr. Wegman comes in looks at the x-rays offers shots or replacements and leaves. No exam of the joint or questions, just 30 second look at the x-ray and sent me on my way.

Nope
He’s a machine! Mechanically went through the appointment with one solution. Knee replacement. He would do injections, but I supposedly needed both knees replaced. He processes information with zero bedside manner or empathy toward your pain. No thanks! I went one floor down to another orthopedic surgeon and after taking x-rays themselves, they told me I had plenty of space between bones and DIDN’T need a knee replacement at all. I have lots of arthritis behind my kneecaps which can be treated with injections and possibly minor cleanup microscopic surgery in the future. I choose not having knee replacement and the experience of being around an arrogant doctor. I’d never recommend him.

He smiled and that was that.
I went in with recurring knee problems.First of all, this doctor made a statement that contradicted my previous doctor who has retired. Xrays were taken, and that's all he looked at. He never looked at my knees, never palpitated, did nothing, but offered to give me injections. Do not waste your time going to this doctor. He has a careless, uninterested attitude that leaves a patient with no confidence in his ability or concern.

My primary doctor told me to see Dr. Wegman as that is who the doctors go to themselves when they need hip and knee replacements. He was very patient, compassionate, and I had a great surgical outcome. when I went to my first PT visit my therapist told me I was lucky to have chosen Dr. Wegman and I feel the same. 5+++ stars

Time to look for a new orthopedic dr! Very poor beside manners and rude. Did not seem the least bit interested in what we had to say. Would not address a vertebral fracture, which showed in the xray, suggested there may be a fracture in the hip, but would not do an xray of the hip since the recovery regimen would be the same. Just come back in 6 weeks- NEVER!!

I had suffered with hip dysplasia for decades until I met Dr Wegman. Dr Schlafley had retired, so I had retired and I needed a new hip. To make a long story short, Dr. Wegman gave me my new hip on June 9th 2020. I got my life back, thanks to this brilliant Doctor. Am back walking 5 miles a day. He’s a true professional who knows his craft. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Saw Dr Wegman on the advise of my primary care and the ER provider at St Lukes for pain above my right knee into my hip due to a fall. Copay was the usual $50 for specialist copay. Dr Wegman spent a grand total of 5 minutes with me. Told me I “probably” had a torn muscle and to take ibuprofen for 6-12 weeks. 10 dollars per minute to be told to do something I’m already doing. He seemed smug and uninterested in anything I told him or asked him. All he seemed interested in was leaving the room. Time to look for another Orthopedic Surgeon.

I brought my knee x-rays to a first time visit with Dr. Wegman. I explained that I could barely place any weight in my leg, had difficulty walking and my knee would swell after trying. He said I had arthritis and he could give me a shot of cortisone. I tried to tell him it that I had gone from walking miles per day to barely being able to walk. He said either take the injection or don't. Period, no discussion. After a 2 minute visit, including the shot, I left. Update, I saw another doctor who listened, took new x-rays, and ordered a MRI. Diagnosis was complete tear of my meniscus and a stress fracture of my tibia. I just had surgery Friday after living for 3 months with unnecessary pain. I am sorry that I did not have the same experience as many of his patients who left reviews. My experience needless to say was not good.
