Thoughtful and I’m greatly improved
After seeing several very negative reviews I want to say the staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Dr weaver read the information form I filled out and knew my interests and my problem and asked about them. I didn’t feel like I was just another patient. He explained the procedure in detail. I had some relief almost immediately. I have been a patient there on and off for 10 years. The one time I had a problem after the injection he made an appointment to go over it with me.

My 80 year old Mothers experience with Dr. Weaver was horrible. He doesn't listen to his patients, provides no explanations or education, and loves to talk about what he cooks for dinner. He feigns compassion and doesn't answer questions. He put her on pain killers and when she messed up her dose, he treated her like a drug addict and dropped her, throwing her into major withdrawal. When I talked with him about the opiods eventually not working and what we could do, he just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do and she would have to live in pain. The office staff is just as bad with no compassion and no training in how to deal with people in chronic pain. When the company was bought by someone else, her copay office visit went from $25.00 to $125.00. I would never ever recommend this place.

Dr. Weaver listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. He did not even blink when I pulled out a sheet of paper with questions. He did a test spinal cord stimulator procedure on me and was extremely patient and kind. The test was a terrific success! I was hoping not to like him so I could find a doctor closer to my home, but quickly realized he was the best and well worth the drive. I highly recommend him!

Today was my second injection. Dr. Weaver personally called me this morning before coming to the clinic. He said that Dominion Power had a transformer blow and that the power wouldn't come back for a couple of hours. He called me himself before I drove there from North Carolina, so I wouldn't have to make a wasted trip. He then called about an hour later and said that I could come in if I wanted since Dominion Power repaired the transformer. My pain is decreased by over 99% since the first injection and I am hoping the second will get rid of the rest. I am very happy with Dr. Weaver's kindness to call me himself and also his ability as a Doctor. I am so glad I am feeling better.

I had a spinal injection for my sciatica. Dr. Weaver explained everything to me before in the exam room. He even mentioned how he doesn't use any generic medicines. That made me feel so much more comfortable. I feel so much better after my injection.

I had my second injection about 2 months ago. I have felt great. I was so close to having surgery, but not needed anymore. If my pain stays as little as it is now, I don't have to have spinal surgery. Highly recommend.

I have been seeing Dr. Weaver for about 5 years or more. He is kind and compassionate, his epidural injections are not painful. Ron his PA is terrific. He listens and is responsive to my concerns. I have given Dr. Weaver a 3 due to his rude receptionist. Yesterday I had an appointment with the PA and she told that I am self-pay and I needed to pay them $239. (I live in Hampton and it’s a 30min drive). When I questioned her about it she told me they did not accept my insurance. I have had 2 previous appointments this year and have only paid the copay of $35. I have had a Medicare advantage plan for the past 3 years and was aware they do not accept any Medicare advantage plans but they have always submitted claims and accepted my copay. When I tried to get an explanation of what has changed I kept getting the same answer. It was like banging my head against a brick wall. Every time I deal with this receptionist she is rude and doesn’t listen or try to resolve problems.

Referral from EVMS Internal Medicine, (CC Sent). Initial meeting was very brief, very little history interest, albeit extensive, and the obligatory handshake was complete. After a urine screen and background check, I was prescribed the same minimal dose of tramadol I had taken for over ten years, and assigned to the PA or NP (gatekeeper). Provided with a three month Rx and out the door. All went well for several months until I had to travel to Costa Rica and then Mexico. I cancelled my appointments until I returned and since tramadol is an OTC medication in both countries I did not need to or was it practical to visit the Norfolk offices until my return to the country. Upon return I promptly made an appointment, disclosed the situation and consented to a urine screen, and resummed Rx tramadol and when my next was due, the staff wrote the date wrong on the reminder card, two days late. When I called to confirm my appt I was told not to come back, dropped verbally, no written exp.

I have been suffering with back pain for many years. I was going to another pain clinic in Portsmouth, but they closed last month. I was referred to Dr. Weaver for an epidural injection to see if that would help with my pain. My back feels great now!!! I wish I had found him sooner. He talked to me the entire time and explained everything that he was doing. Very comforting. I felt a little pressure, but overall had a great experience. I would highly recommend him for an injection.

Excellent first visit and treatment. Office staff courteous and professional. Received personal phone call from Dr Weaver the day before visit to answer any questions about procedure. Dr Weaver was polite and engaging. He had thoroughly reviewed my healthcare info prior to entering exam room. He was professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and exhibited great skill when performing the epidural. As a healthcare professional myself, I recommend Dr Weaver without hesitation. Terry P. Painless Injection!!! My neurosurgeon recommended an injection into my spine. I was sooooo nervous. Surprisingly, Dr. Weaver called the afternoon before HIMSELF!!! This was very reassuring. I had the injection and can't believe I was nervous and waited so long to get. I am so happy now.

Thank-you Dr. Weaver!! I had a wonderful experience. I am doing so much better. I still have some pain occasionally, but I feel a lot better. We found a good combination of medicines and an occasional injection, but I am a lot better. It looks like the negative reviews are from people who didn't get the narcotics that they wanted, and they are upset. I would highly recommend. Thank-you Dr. Weaver!!!

He is an excellent physician who has given me pain injections in the past and I have always had good results. I think that some of the people who have complained have unrealistic expectations from this process. I have always found him to be courteous and professional and he has always taken the time to answer my questions.
