Gave the advice that saved my life.
Way back in 2008, Dr. Plaskon performed a cervical lymph node excision on me. We suspected lymphoma and I had been misdiagnosed locally. He provided me with crucial information related to lymphoma, as we suspected that. He advised me that if I ever heard the word 'wait' from a doctor, that I should run for my life. We went to a different doctor (local oncologist) who, after performing some tests, wanted to 'wait.' We ran. Went to SCCA (Fred Hutch) where I was properly diagnosed with the first of 4 cancers, ultimately three simultaneous stage IV blood cancers. My hematologist there called my remission a miracle. It has been 16 years now - years which I would not have had without Dr. Plaskon's sage advice. I am forever indebted to him for the time spent with me, his expertise and life-saving advice.

I have never known a physician willing to spend more with me or my family. He was exhaustively thorough and empathetic. My surgery went smoothly and my recovery is now complete. I felt he was always available to me throughout the entire experience.
