He took great care of me and made me feel at ease with my breast surgery . His staff is awsome and he is an awsome dr .

I regret to say that my loved one’s experience with Dr. Pickens and his staff was extremely disappointing. My loved one was dealing with a very serious and frightening diagnosis, which required timely attention and care. Unfortunately, Dr. Pickens demonstrated a lack of urgency and professionalism throughout the process. Despite the critical nature of the situation, it took an unreasonably long time to get a procedure scheduled that he alleged needed to be done asap. I traveled from multiple states away, to be with them and help take care of them during this time and for recovery. Multiple calls were made to his office, but they never returned. The lack of communication and follow-through left my family feeling abandoned and helpless during an already stressful time. It was disheartening to witness such negligence from a medical professional and his team. Serious medical conditions require not only expertise but also compassion and responsiveness, both of which were severely lacking in this case. I cannot in good conscience recommend Dr. Pickens to anyone seeking professional and timely medical care.

Very friendly staff, both in the office and the OR. Explained all aspects of the surgery and listened to all my concerns. I will go back with any other surgical issues that come up. Sooo much better than my experience at UF.

Very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Pickens and his staff during my recent hernia surgery. They answered all of my questions, and were all very professional and very competent. Glad that I chose Dr. Pickens and this location for my procedure.

Dr Pickens is a professional inside and out. From diagnosis of my wife’s breast cancer to completing two successful surgeries, he has done the impossible and saved our family. A true hero. Thanks you Dr Pickens from the bottom of my heart.

Dr Pickens saved my life. I was misdiagnosed for 7 years by Lake City medical. I left LCM, passes out at home and was rushed to Gainesville in another ambulance after the doctor at LCM threw me out because he said there was nothing wrong with me. Dr Pickens and his assistant saved me with a proper diagnosis. I had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder the next morning.

Dr. Pickens is superb! His combination of professionalism, kindness, and humanity make him the surgeon to see when you need help. He performed an appendectomy and cholecystectomy on me with laparoscopic technique on June 27, 2018. Within 48 hours, I was up and around...feeling better. He took time out to call me and give me pathology reports quickly as well. I was so afraid I had cancer and his call early in the morning assured me all was well.

So friendly, kind, and caring! I had a great and surgery and recovery from my appendicitis thanks to the skill and care of Dr. Pickens. 10/10!

Amazing Surgeon, after an abnormal Mammogram revealing a 9mm mass, surgery had to be done. Not ever having surgery before and the possibility of malignancy, I was extremely nervous. Dr Pickens was highly recommended. After my consult, and tons of prayer, I was confident that Dr Pickens was the Best. Professional, Respectful. The best patient care from start to finish. A successful surgery from start to finish. Rec'd a personal call from Dr. Pickens to advise "NO CANCER" God Is Good!!
