Simply said, Dr. Palafox provided outstanding triple bypass surgery in June of 2024. "Integrity" comes to mind in describing the care received. My heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Palafox.

When I found out that my routine aortic valve replacement with TAVR was not possible because they had found I had an aortic root aneurysm, a good friend referred Dr. Palafox. When I met him at his office, I knew I had made the right decision. His attention to detail in explaining the surgical procedure and his answers to all of my concerns put my mind at ease. There was no rush to our meeting with him. Each and every question and detail was covered. It may sound unbelievable, but the day of surgery I was calm and confident that everything was going to go absolutely perfect and it did. Dr. Palafox and his staff of professionals are the BEST of the BEST. The attention to every detail after surgery was exemplary. Aside from being the best, in my humble opinion, Dr. Palafox genuinely cares for his patients and is very down to earth. His visits to my room in ICU and afterwards were always filled with great conversations about many topics outside of the medical side of it.

Dr. Palafox was clear and concise about procedure using analogies giving me a thorough understanding.

Dr. Palafox was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable asking questions regarding my surgery, I recommend him 100 %.

Things seem to have gone as smooth as possible. Was sent home the day after surgery, no need for any type of pain killer, not even acetaminophen

He answered all my questions, had great follow up care, and his staff was always available to assist me. Dr. Palafox is a gifted surgeon and world renowned. He has surgically repaired our one son's pectus excavatum and our other son's pectus carinatum. He came highly recommended by our pediatrician, Dr. Steven Abelowitz, actually, Dr. Abelowitz stated he didn't want any other thoracic surgeon to do the procedure, only Dr. Palafox. The office staff are fantastic, personable and knowledgable in their positions. Their admiration and respect for Dr. Palafox is obvious when you see them interacting. Dr. Palafox's bedside manner with my two teenage boys has always been great with clear explanations of how he would repair their opposite issues. My boys were relaxed and definitely put at ease going under such an invasive procedure. The fellow doctors and nurses at CHOC hold him in very high regard. They love when he is at the hospital, with some seeking him out. I was grateful to hear stories the nurses shared re: Dr. Palafox and the camaraderie they have with one another. BEST DOCTOR!

Dr Palafox is a very laid back, kind, informative, doctor with wonderful bedside manners. His office staff especially Nancy Padilla (front desk) has been extremely efficient and kind. She always answers the phone and is especially patient with parents of children who are being cared for by Dr Palafox. I’ve been lucky to speak to her on numerous occasions and she has always been very helpful and calming. Highly recommend this doctor.
