A rude doctor
A good doctor (which he no doubt is) doesn’t need to have a lot of tlc, but I think he shouldn’t be actually rude. Snide comments and preferring to talk than listen to the patient aren’t great traits in any profession, and certainly not when you’re about to be operated on. I certainly felt like I was just another number.

Knee replacement.
Dr McDermott did a left knee replacement on me in Oct., 2022. All went exceptionally well, and I was satisfied with communication, knowledge, and professionalism with Doc. I was up and walking with my knew knee within 12 hrs., and I no post op problems. Very satisfied, and will have him do my right knee in the future. Rose Brooks

Awesome Surgeon for Knee Replacement
Dr. McDermott has been my orthopedic surgeon for 5+ years. I was able to hold off knee replacement until March 2022. During the pre-surgery consultation he said I would be at 80% with 2 months after surgery. I am 69 years old and It wasn't fun and you have to give it your all in physical therapy, I'm right on that mark and his staff is amazing. Don't consider anyone else for knee replacement. He is the best. Oh, by the way, my best friend had same surgery with Dr. McDermott three hours before he and he is doing great.

Excellent experience
Dr. McDermott performed a complete hip replacement on my left hip recently. I don't think there's any question that he is an excellent surgeon. His staff was professional and considerate. Dr. McDermott was friendly, professional, explained my x-rays, performed a brief exam, made recommendations, and took his time to listened and discuss. His pre-op visit at the hospital was brief but thorough. He confirmed I had been visited by the necessary nurses, anesthesiologists, etc. and made sure neither my husband nor I had any questions. Along with the regular updates my husband had been receiving from various medical staff, Dr. McDermott took time to let him know how the surgery went and how I was doing. I highly recommend him.

Dr Brian McDermott did my total right hip replacement on December 21, 2021. The entire procedure from start to finish went exactly as described. Dr McDermott is an excellent surgeon and upon waking from the surgery I felt better than I have for a long time. Two days after surgery I am walking around the court around my home, climbing 15 steps to get to the top level of my home and my pain level is almost nothing. Thank you Dr. McDermott you gave me my mobility back!

ONE OF THE RUDEST DRS IVE EVER SEEN. I would give him 0 stars if I could. I can’t believe he is still in practice as rude and short as he can be with his patients. I had only seen him twice for 2 different issues years apart and the second time I saw him he said “what now”. I wouldn’t recommend him to ANYONE. I was trying to explain what I was going through (Lyme disease) and he made a noise and cut me off and basically ended the appointment without me finishing what I was saying. RUDE. He should not be a doctor if you ask me as rude as he is and as inconsiderate of people’s feelings as he is. If you want a caring dr who listens to you DO NOT GO TO Dr. McDermott. He does not care about his patients, he can’t as rude as he is to them. Horrible horrible dr

There is little doubt he is one of the best surgeons in the area; however my examination left much to be desired. The Dr. walked in, looked at the X-ray, bent my injured leg back fully without consideration to the pain level and announced a knee replacement and what to expect afterwards. Ok so far i guess. “Hey Doc, you are going to cut my leg open so let me ask you a few questions”. Well, impatient to say the least and even my wife commented that he was rude. Questions were answered often with “I told you that already”. Well Doc my head is reeling with the information load and my already injured leg is killing me after you bent it back to its limits with no warning. So a little patience on your part would be appreciated. Any attempt to get to know him a little (again since he is going to cut me open) was met with indifference and impatience. No issue he is one of the best; however, i will look elsewhere based on my experience during the exam.

Dr. McDermott replaced both my knees this past year. The first was in April, and it went so well, I scheduled the 2nd in Sept. After the first, I had Home Health for physical therapy. That lasted 2 weeks. I drove myself to outpatient physical therapy after that. I was already walking without a cane or walker at that time. After 2 - 3 weeks of output therapy, I was good to go! Amazingly, the 2nd knee replacement went even better than the first! I was out of the hospital by noon the day after surgery, and had 2 weeks of Home Health physical therapy. When I went to start outpatient PT, I was told my knee was healing well, and I already met the goals they would have set for me in outpt PT. They gave me home exercises to do, and I did not even have to go to Outp PT. Dr. McDermott is an excellent surgeon. He is meticulous with what he does, and I certainly have been enjoying my new knees and freedom to do the things I want to do as a result! I wholeheartedly recommend DrMcDermott

It was horrible, the wait time was quick but as for Dr McDermott he was rude and very short with me. He walked in the office looked at my MRI and mumbled something and walked out the room He did not once explain what was on the MRI . Oh he did move my leg up and down then walked out the room and said refer her to pain management. It’s been a week and still haven’t heard from the office. Walked out feeling angry and in more pain. I heard wonderful things about him so I thought I would give him a shot, but nope never again.

I had anterior hip replacement of my left hip performed by Dr. McDermott. He's a great surgeon who got me back up and walking like a normal human being within a month. I was back fully functioning in my activities within six weeks.

Had a total hip replacement at the end of 2012 that he performed with no issues. Many folks knock him because he is not the most personal person but I would like to remind these folks we are not going to see him for a chat session you want to go see him because he is by far one of the best in what he does. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has hip issues. He certainly has helped my quality of life without having to deal with all the pain I use to have.

I recently had a hip replacement, and Dr McDermott. He performed the surgery flawlessly at this point being 7 days post op. I was really concerned about the pain after it,but his approach was anterior with no restrictions,I will be letting family and friends know they need to seek him with any knee or hip concerns.
