Dr. Kaplan wouldn't let me speak from the minute we jumped on the call. I tried explaining and gathering my thoughts, but he would interrupt each time. Telehealth is a JOKE!!! Pay $250 for a telehealth visit for TWELVE MINUTES. He told me everything I'm doing to try and help myself is a myth and won't help, and that I need PREVENTATIVE surgery as soon as possible. No.

I waited six weeks to get an initial “video” visit with this physician who didn’t turn on his camera. It’s hard to get to know someone you can’t see. It felt like he had no regard for me. He made a decision about my treatment plan and presented only one option to me—an option that did not include a physical examination of any kind— an over-the-counter test. I believe he had no interest in treating me, given that when I disagreed with his decision-without-discussion, his response did not invite discourse, did not explore my concerns, did not seek other alternatives. It seemed to be his way—- or nothing at all. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone—-and especially not to an obese patient. I felt marginalized and believe I was denied appropriate screening due to his issues with my weight.

No one returns calls. Can’t get my test results. Doesn’t use My Chart which would simplify everything.

Would not renew prescription before I left town...only had a few pills left. Worst office I have ever experienced!! Avoid at all costs!!!

I only saw Dr. Kaplan for a screening colonoscopy. From my first call, everything was efficient. I was able to get in within a few weeks (I had no rush, as it was screening). The day of the procedure was organized and efficient. Dr. Kaplan was kind and discussed the (normal) results with me as well as discussing the (lack of) heredity of my mother's type of colon cancer. I was very pleased.. Having a colonoscopy is not the most enjoyable process, but Dr. Kaplan and his staff made it easy, at least.

I waited a long time for an appt with him despite some bad reviews. My GI dr. at Methodist had retired. The day of my appt. a snotty Methodist clerk called and canceled my appointment saying he wasn't going to see me...ever! . Methodist thinks they have bought out enough private practices to corner the market and they can treat patients like dirt. Better to go elsewhere to find some ethics and caring for patients.
