Great MD and easy to get along with

Got diagnosed with BPD2 by a nurse practitioner last year. She had me on 5 different meds at one point and nothing seemed to be helping. My first appointment with Dr. Esparza He took one look at my meds and was able to tell me 1 of them isn't even really proven to work, the other was an antipsychotic which can cause permanent involuntary ticks (which I didn't know), and that only one of them was really helping me and not for the issues I really needed. He weened me off what I was on and put me on a new med that I had to build up tolerance for. At first I was skeptical as the med doesn't hit a therapeutic dose for 6 weeks. But once the full dose was reached I was surprised how fast it worked. Meds will always be tricky and most of the time the first thing you try won't work. But Dr. Esparza was able to help me find what I needed and for that I am forever grateful.

Dr. Esparza is only available a couple of hours each day. There is a major supply issue with one of my Meds and I often have to call several pharmacies to make sure that there is a supply. On several occasions Dr. Esparza and his team did not follow detailed instructions on which pharmacy to place the order. This happens all too often and when it does Dr. Esparza is not available to correct his team's mistake. I have also been made to feel by his assistants that these mistakes are my fault, which is not okay. WARNING this doctor and his team make critical mistakes, he unavailable to fix his mistakes, and his team makes the client feel like they are the ones who9 made a mistake. THEY DO NOT TAKE PATIENTS MEDICATION NEEDS SERIOUSLY. PRESCRIBE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Brian Esparza violated my body by forcing me onto daily injections of medication I didn’t want and didn’t even have a diagnosis for needing. He threatened me with restraints if I didn’t comply. How am I ever going trust mental healthcare again?

I have been a patient of Dr Esparza’s for quite some time and I just can’t say enough good things about him. My mental health has vastly improved, I’ve been sober 9 years and I just feel very supported and cared for by Dr Esparza and his entire office. I appreciate the work they do - it cannot be easy dealing with some of us, especially when we’re still actively using drugs or alcohol- but the compassion and lack of judgement is evident in everything they do as caretakers. Does not listen to the patient and has no concern about dangerous side effects of toxic drugging
