Dr. Donovan reminds me of a burned out doctor, who is working because he has to.. I have no problem with him telling me I'm fat, because I know I am, but to make comments like, ( IT SURE DIDNT AFFECT YOUR APPETITE ANY ) is just unkind. He talked down to me like, he can't be bothered with me. He won't be bothered with me anymore. The last visit I went to him for, I felt like he couldn't wait to get rid of me. I won't be bothering him anymore. I wish him all the best. In all fairness, I'm sure he's a good doctor, if you don't mind a crummy bed side manner.

Unbelievable
Don't you dare question his ideas for treatment. He will turn in to one rude son of a gun. I am of the opinion to always get a second and sometimes a third. This guy is more interested in writing prescriptions than the health of his patients.

Arrogant and Dismissive
I have seen Dr Donovan for over 2 yrs. He has called me to aggressively complain about receiving records from another physician and my request to send an Rx to a different pharmacy stating he is not a 'concierge physician '. Those records indicated an issue that needed follow up. He completely dismissed it, and me. He is dimeaning, does not listen and clearly wants to deal with nothing but skinned knees and sore throats. Find another physician.

Shocking Unprofessional
I have been a patient of Dr Donovan for well over 2 years and suddenly when my wife & I requested an explanation as to why he called and left an angry message about records we had sent for his files and a request for a refill to a different pharmacy he responded “I am not a conscierge Dr”. When we started with Dr Donovan my wife explained she was looking for a GP that would coordinate her many providers as she had Lupus and several additional conditions. He agreed he would be able to do that and 2 yrs later that does not fit his needs. He was demeaning toward my wife and when I had emergency bypass surgery and I requested the records that showed my concerns about conditions that led to the surgery he stated I had not given any indication of those symptoms. It seems he now wants only patients with needs for easy minor care. He has no desire to listen to his patients and if you ask direct questions he will shut you down and ask you to leave his practice.

My first visit
On time for my appointment and less than 5 minutes wait time after I completed my paperwork. Dr. Donovan listened and gave details for my treatments. He did answer my many questions. I do trust his decision and will follow his orders. Not sure why his score is not higher.

Dr Donovan Making Accurate and Timely Decisions
Dr Donovan has been my primary physician for three years and from day 1 has done a great job. For example, I had a kidney stone issue, 8mm, which had not yet manifest itself in severe pain. Dr Donovan expedited specific tests based on mild symptoms to identify the root cause. Subsequently, moved quickly to get me access to a specialist in less than a week...which took an extraordinary effort as there were no openings. Had surgery and right as rain within the span of 8 days. When the office is not open, he always answers his calls. Couldn't ask for a better general practitioner and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

I had a stay at a residential program due to unresolved ptsd and other health issues. I wasn’t able to work so that I could attend this 30 day program but I had short term disability. Dr Donovan stated that he “didn’t have time to fill out the 22 pages sent by my insurance”. It turned out that it was 3 pages and he still refused to complete this for me. So, I’m not working, I’m not earning an income, my husband is disabled and I am the breadwinner, I’m struggling with serious issues that threaten my life, and what do I receive from Dr Donovan? A letter discharging me from his practice because I cried and was upset when he still refused to help me utilize my insurance. He stated that he didn’t feel that it was appropriate filling this out, yet he was willing to prescribe my meds for ptsd. I have been in the healthcare field in Tucson for over 25 years and I have never encountered such heartless, unprofessional conduct. In today’s world, we need doctors that care for the WHOLE PERSON.

Very Unprofessional
Brian is the absolute worst “Doctor” I have ever encountered. He is unprofessional and practices in a dangerous way. I ignored bad reviews on the United Healthcare site & still went to him, I wish I had listened to those warnings about his bad bedside manner & unprofessionalism. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Great interactions with Dr. Donovan!
I have been very pleased with all of my professional interactions with Dr. Brian Donovan. He was friendly, personable, and did a very thorough interview where he asked pertinent questions, took notes, and often looked at me in the eyes to make professional contact. At my suggestion, he made a referral for me to a specialist (everything was OK!) and ordered a blood panel for me (everything was OK there too!) And, after the blood results came in, he called me on the phone to talk with me personally about the results. And, his front desk person, Maria, was also very friendly and efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Donovan to prospective patients. I think you will be pleased to have him as your doctor.

NO! Huge superiority complex. He is the great and omnipotent DOCTOR. He doesn't listen. When you bring in information he dismisses it. He dismisses your opinion, questions and most of all your emotional well being. He considers an exam as listening to your heart, looking in your mouth and ears. That's it.

My experience was very good. I was looking for a primary care doctor and was given a prompt appointment by a pleasant and helpful staff. Doctor Donovan saw me without much waiting time and then spent 45 minutes to an hour going over my health situation. When I got home I signed up for their online patient portal which is also helpful. Professional but friendly and personal.

Dr. Brian Shannon Donovan is a consumately professional, warm, and gracious physician. He was extremely thorough today: in my 8 month search for a brilliant, communicative, and concerned physician, Dr. Donovan is by far the only one to have met or exceeded my expectations. You'll love him and be eternally grateful you had the chance to make him your treating physician.

I thought the doc was great! I needed a new primary as mine retired, and his staff got me in to see him in 2 weeks. The doc went through all my medical history. Asked about it ALL of it in detail, reviewed the medication I'm on, did a physcial from top to bottom, contacted my pharmacy that day, answered all my questions, we set goals, and he scheduled my next appointment. The level of professionalism was extremely good. Being cautious looking for a new primary after having been with the same doc for years, I did my research-his education was top notch and I found his bedside manner to be very accommodating. He was one of the few docs taking new patients. Wait time was 5 minutes. Covered all bases. As far as I'm concerned, he's my primary until I die or he retires. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a primary doctor.

I was unable to see my doctor and was offered opportunity to see Dr. Donovan. I was in pain and agreed. I was very impressed. After seeing me, and while I was still there, he and his assistant got me in immediately for a CT scan, on an hours notice, and called me at 8:02am the next business day to see how I was doing. No, he not a chatty talker, but that is what I like. I want him to do what he is trained to do, diagnose issues to the best of his ability and take action needed to remedy my condition. He did that and I would give him and A++.
