After my surgery with him I was in so much pain for months!!! I couldn’t get into see him for my follow up appointment for several months and even though I tried to get an earlier appointment I couldn’t. My original appointment was then pushed to a later date so I had to suffer even longer! I tried calling the office to ask for some sort of pain relief or other ways to relieve the pain and discomfort and got told I had to wait until I saw the doctor!! So I have had to suffer with this pain from October until the middle of February!!! It’s excruciating pain which I can’t move my head up, down, left, or right! The muscles are so tight that it feels like a rubber band is about to snap!

Office help leaves a lot to be desired. Follow up after surgery also leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely will not recommend.

Dr. Schlifka, is by far the finest neurosurgeon in South Florida and the Treasure Coast! He has done a lot of reconstructive surgery to my spine after 25 years of having surgeries and treatment after treatment after treatment. he has completely made me hole again, and I have the spine of a normal person. I’m very grateful for him. He’s so compassionate, he has mastered his craft, just amazing, he’s better than any other doctor that I’ve ever had in the 59 years of my life. Please don’t wait, make an appointment now.

After you read this, I hope you make the right decision. I had surgery on my L4&L5 two years ago and ended up worse than before the surgery. Dr. Shlifka then fused my SI joint a year later. These were two failed surgeries and disabled ever since.

I cannot say enough good things about this doctor and his staff. I’m over 30 from surgery and I am finally out of pain after 17 + years. It’s unbelievable that I can now move freely and my range of motion is restored! IMO you won’t find better than Dr. Shilifka. I feel remarkable since spine/cervical surgery. I’m especially grateful.

Excellent. He did back surgery on me, and got me walking after 8 years. Couldn’t ask for a better surgeon.

I was in pain for over 2 years from a fall. Dr Schilfka saw my problem that 4 other doctors did not see. He replaced four cervical disc and inserted a plate with ten screws and I feel like he has given me My Life back. I was extremely scared but I had an office visit the night before my surgery and then the day of he came in and spoke with me before getting scrubbed up. Dr Schilfka talked to me like a person not a number. We went over everything even the silliest of questions that I had, he took time to answer. If you or someone you know has a problem that stems for the spine the only doctor to see is Dr Schilfka

Dr. Schlifka did my cervical fusion in 2011 in PA. He was absolutely wonderful, pre and post-operatively. I have the utmost respect for him. Less than 1 year after my cervical fusion, I was in a car crash where I was rear-ended at 35 mph. The memorable part of this was I was dressed in full clown make-up w entire costume on! Yes, I arrived at the ER just that way- with the addition of a back board & neck collar. Although everyone tried their best not to chuckle, I made sure Dr. Schlifka was sent a message & a photo! I sustained a slight whiplash. Now 9 years later I need C6 - C7 done, I only wish he were still here in NEPA. Please stay safe everyone!

An excellent surgeon and spine doctor

Stay away from this guy if you value your live or someone else's. He's pleasant like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Surgery should be a last opinion, not the first, His NPs are sloppy like him, except for Myke. He destroyed my father's live. How you sleep at night is beyond me. Go back to where ever you came from, we don't need more lousy doctors in Florida.

50 years of living with Grandmal Epilepsy (now well controlled), and over a dozen Neurosurgeries in the 1970's at NYU (9 east). - After our first meeting; the fear of being under minded and or judged has lessoned so I can sleep better. Dr Schlifka is my angel. After four failed neck surgeries and years of pain, I finally have a new future. My migraines are mostly gone and I only get soreness sometimes. This is a real life change for me. He is very kind, listens to you, explains everything, has excellent bedside manner, and does not give up in trying to make you well. He also has performed two back surgeries on me and I do not have improvement but I am hopeful he will come thru again. We are lucky to have him in south FL.

Compassionate and amazingly skilled! 20 years of excruciating pain erased! He has givin us hope as well as our life back!

Dr Schlifka is one of the only doctors in his field that takes care of his patients total needs when dealing with neurosurgery. He is caring, and never rushed when explaining what needs to be done. I wish I still lived in Florida for my follow ups. No one compares to his level of dedication in his field.
