Fantastic but….
I always have great experiences here but as I was walking up from anesthesia i remember a guy named Jake was an awful nurse. Typically I don’t remember much but Jake has awful bedside manner. I remember him rudely saying “hey you need to get up and get off your phone” that snapped me out of it. Jake I’d recommend that you work on your bedside manner because you have a poor attitude for a nurse and I hope I never have to deal with you again. Everyone else was fantastic as always. Thankfully that snapped me out of it because I was very close to cursing that guy out. I’m a veteran and I’ve never asked for anything. The least this privileged and clearly apathetic guy could do is show a little patience and kindness, it doesn’t cost anything

My procedure went well with no complications-pain.
No pain from procedure thanks to using light anesthesia (only through an IV).

Helped me walk again
Dr. Newell gave me some injections. The injections DID give me the ability to walk and stand almost pain free. I am sad to say though, the injections caused me longterm pain (a different pain than what I was experiencing before). So far I have had this new pain for around 9 months. It is something I cope and deal with everyday. I DO NOT believe he is to blame for the new pain. I believe it is just something that can't be helped. The new pain is manageable. The main thing is he did help me. The original pain WAS NOT manageable.

Best Interest in Mind
Dr. Newell has his patient’s best interest in mind when providing his services. He’s always kind, up front and very personable. The staff at Tennessee Valley Pain has been nothing short of the same. As a transplant from Southern California, it makes me feel like I’m in good hands, especially after having the same medical team for nearly 20 years straight.

Discogram
Continuity of care can make a significant difference in a patient’s experience. Seeing the same staff members consistently helps build trust and comfort, reducing the need to repeatedly explain one’s situation. This familiarity can lead to a more relaxed and positive environment for the patient.

Dr. Newell
I was waiting for the procedure when Dr. Newell came in. He came over to me and introduced himself to me. Explained the procedure and not to worry. I felt very comfortable with him being the second time having a procedure done with him. I was sedated and gently fell asleep. T can say, this was the best time with Tennessee Valley Pain Center! I truly love all the stuff involved with my procedure.

Dr. Newell is kind and considerate. He listened to my issues and treated me with respect. He performed injections as well as had me go through physical therapy. I have had epidural injections under anesthesia in the past and by far my experience with Dr. Newell was so much better. He met me in the pre-op room prior to procedure to ask if I had any other questions. He was already in the procedure room when they got me there. The support staff treated me with dignity. It's always difficult to move from one bed to the next with very little clothing. But they did it and held my gown to show respect. He wasn't pushy about what he thought I should do but presented treatment and asked what I thought. Very considerate!
