She did what she could to my finger that was more or less DEAD and gave me a referral to an orthopedic surgeon who has been great. She even called me personally after a surgery to see how I was doing.

My husband presented to the er with back pain, abdominal and had been vomiting . She did not even fo a bedside exam until 45 minutes after arrival. (The er was not busy they seen a total of 7 patients ts in 12 hours according to staff when I got medical records) she seen him palpatated his back and said that it did not seem to be kidneys. Sent him home withing 10 minutes with back pain discharge notes and muscle relaxer and made us by lidocaine patches. My husband came home si k. Could barely walk and was vomiting. Within 2 hours he developed chills and could not keep anything down, not even the "muscle realxers." I took him back. They did labs that had shown elevated white count so CT was done. My husband's appendix had ruptured! If I had not had any medical knowledge he could have went all night in pain. And condition worsening. The fact that a back pain/abdominal pain protocol was not even taken into consideration has me irrate!

Saved my husband’s life!
Dr. Becker was working the Oaklawn Hospital emergency room when I took my husband in with chest pains. He was immediately hooked up to an EKG machine and Dr. Becker determined that he was having a heart attack and needed to be transferred to Borgess Cath Lab. She consulted with Borgess and they were ready for him when he arrived by ambulance. He was in critical condition and needed emergency open heart surgery. Fortunately he is recovering but there is no doubt that he would not have made it if it had not been for Dr. Becker’s quick, decisive actions! We will be forever grateful to her and to the great ER staff at Oaklawn Hospital.

Dr. BRENDA BECKER was personable and made us feel at ease as we were in a Borgess emergency room on 6/15/18. She presented her opinions so that we could understand them, answered all our questions, and made us feel like she cared about the health of the patient after we left the hospital. Many thanks!
