I was at the gym 4 days after surgery. He is an excellent surgeon.

Excellent experience with Dr. Vitek. Complete knee replacement. Diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthritis prior to surgery was great.

Awful

I literally pay for health insurance so Id like it to be used to my request and aligned with my symptoms and presentation. I didn’t complain when I was told I needed an x-ray for my knee which was going to show absolutely nothing in regards to my concern, I complied because you know, insurance. The Dr. was dismissive and overly critical about my history, current pain, and treatment options. Simply relying on a feeling or a thought instead of actual fact and imaging required to further investigate my complaints and pain cannot be sufficient in providing the service needed to help patients feel better. I haven’t had too many good experiences in the past with surgeons and doctors for other reasons, but this one so far takes the cake. Won’t be returning after the recommended staying off and rest and the revisit if symptoms worsen.

Great orthopedist and very affable guy. Over the years, he performed carpal tunnel surgery twice (the surgery is simple and very effective), repaired a torn ACL in my knee, and diagnosed and treated a couple of painful, wrenched knees. Very down to earth and easy to be with. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

My experience with OrthoVirginia was overall positive. I arrived early to my appointment in order to fill out the multitude of forms that are normally required at every doctor's office. After checking in, I was told there were no forms to fill out, so I assumed they were able to access info previously provided in a shared "MyChart" system. It was much appreciated that they did not waste my time with redundancy. Even though I was early, Dr Vitek saw me immediately. He respectfully listened to what I had to say and thoroughly explained his diagnosis and recommended treatment, which concurred with my own assessment. I was impressed that he did only what was needed and did not automatically order additional unnecessary tests. Dr. Vitek was courteous and efficient.

Excellent. He examined by shoulder and provided good advice as to how to treat my condition. I felt he was very compassionate, listened to my concerns, and gave full attention to treating me. He performed 2 previous surgeries on me, both with excellent results.

I totally agree with previous reviews of Dr. Vitek, he appears to be knowledgeable but really needs a course on how to treat & speak to patients, I couldn’t wait to get out of there! No recommendation from me.

Dr.BRANTLEY VITEK needs to be trained on how to be decent and caring with his patient. He's too lazy to run a thorough check and to make sure he diagnoses the reason of bone and muscle pain. Horrible experience

I met Dr. Vitek 20 years ago when I crushed my elbow. While explaining what the surgery would entail, he told me the worst case scenario. Lucky for me, he saved my elbow and it works just fine! He has operated on a few more joints, and I expect the knees to be next. Don’t think I could be in better hands!

Go to him if you want to be dismissed, he counts how many times you’ve been to that practice but does not care to find out why. I know I have hip arthritis but have been having a very different and much more intense pain plus tremendous sensitivity to touch on my muscles but I was told in a nut shell that any and all pain I’ll ever have will be from hip arthritis and cannot be anything else. I had a great experience at this place before but will not go again because I can never have anything different than hip arthritis pain, according to this doctor. Great advice! Everyone else again was great but I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I first met with Dr. Vitek in 1998. 2001, he replaced my right hip. In 2004, he repaired my broken right kneecap. In 2005, he put my broken left wrist back together. In 2009, he replaced my left hip. X-rays taken yesterday showed that both hips are still going strong! I have recommended Dr. Vitek to numerous individuals over the past 24 years. He's #1 in my book!

Dr. Vitek has provided exceptional orthopedic care to two members of my family. He has done three highly successful surgeries for knee and bicep repairs. He’s a fantastic person, and a highly skilled surgeon. He ONLY recommends surgery when he thinks it’s required and calls it like it is. He’s extremely knowledgeable and great at explaining the details of an injury and the path forward. Five star physician for sure !!

One year hip replacement follow up

The ease of making an appointment on line through the appointment was a pleasant experience. Dr Vitek is thorough and explained everything. The staff were quite friendly as well.

Great bed side manner. Answered any questions that were asked. Surgery scheduling was a breeze. Very clean environment.

Dr Vitek clearly had many years of experience and can quickly assess and pinpoint issues. He is a clear and respectful communicator.

Dr. Vitec is possibly the worst doctor I have ever been to. He is smug, rude ,uncompassionate, not helpful, and arrogant. He didn’t even Look carefully at my MRI and the follow up didn’t provide any real helpful information. I haven’t had many issues with Ortho Virginia but lately they feel like a procedure factory and I am very disappointed with the practice.
