Competent Kind and OMG On Time
I was referred to Dr. Stark upon the retirement of my PCP of 25 yrs. Formerly a Patient Advocate, I look at three things: listening skills, breadth of knowledge, communication and treatment options. Dr. Stark has added a new expectation: timeliness! Punctuality is underrated until you have fallen victim to the lack thereof. Dr. Stark consciously punctuates patient communications with pauses. This allows me to collect my thoughts and allows him to view the issue beyond the issue, what I was taught in Advocacy training. He is clinically competent, appropriate and kind. This type of Patient-focused medicine is hard to find.

How is he qualified
The thing that sit out most on my visit was his lack professionalism and his degrading linguistics. He described my condition as disgusting which is truly uncalled for coming from a credibly recognized DR. Absolutely horrible experience will never be returning. Genuinely concerned that he is employed.

Not Great
People remember how you make them feel, and Dr. Stark left me feeling like he couldn't care less about me. It seemed to me that I was a chore that he had to get through. There was no respect offered in our first meeting, and it left an impression: checked out doctor.

WE have been Dr. Stark's patients for many years. He has always been kind, informed, and attends to one's questions and needs. We are incredibly sad that he is leaving Chico. The community that gets him is lucky indeed.

Dr. Stark has been my doctor for many years. I think he's a very good doctor and takes more time with patients than many doctors do. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Stark has been my G.P. for just over seven years. He is always professional, empathetic, and respectful in all of my appointments - qualities that can be difficult to find when you need medical attention. I appreciate that he takes my concerns seriously and has referred me to a specialist when I happened to have a medical issue that was outside of his expertise. Great doctor and human being.

Dr. Stark is amazing, he has been our family dr. for years now and I have never had a bad experience. He is kind and gentle and is always looking for answers and not just a band aid for what is happening. Couldn't ask for a better dr.

Listens well. Tries to treat source of problems rather than mask it with medicine. Pleasant demeanor. Seems to really care about the patient.
