Beware of billing. Our daughter had her wisdom teeth removed in February , 2016. The procedure was a success with good results. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case with the billing. We paid the balance around the time of the service, and assumed everything was finalized. To our surprise, we got a call from a collection agency 4.5 YEARS later, that we had outstanding balance. No calls or contact from the dental office just a call out of nowhere from a collection firm. We are very prompt with paying bills and very conscious of our credit so this was a complete surprise. When we contacted The office we were informed “there was a balance which was submitted to insurance but denied“ .... it is beyond comprehension that it took 4 1/2 years to figure this out.

Dr. Semmel and his staff are exceedingly kind, caring, and professional. They went above and beyond to take care of my 93 year old dad when he was in need of major dental care. We will always be grateful to them for providing Dad with the best possible care when he needed it most!

Dr. Semmel had to pull a badly infected tooth and was very patient, kind, knowledgeable about how to treat the extraction due to a prior treatment I had for cancer. He seems to be one of the few in Wilmington who is knowledgeable about the effects of radiation on the teeth, mouth and gums! He used a light sedation and I felt no pain afterwards and the staff were also great and took me earlier due to the pain I was experiencing. I trust his judgement and skills.

My wisdom teeth surgery left me with permanent numbness on half of my chin. The only thing the office had to say was that it should go away slowly. Almost a year later there is no change. I would not recommend Dr. Semmel.
