Absolutely Do Not Recommend
I consulted Thompson for asthma exacerbation with heavy congestion. Despite Medicare and supplemental insurance, full payment was required prior to consultation. During a subsequent 2-week period, I was prescribed 2 different antibiotics plus progressively higher doses of prednisone, up to a final dose of 120 mg daily. My sudden 15-lb weigh gain and extreme edema that developed in my legs and feet were ignored; and neither Dr Thompson nor anyone else followed up on my urgent call in which I reported I could barely breathe. I ended up being taken to St Rose Hospital ER, where I remained under observation for two days, receiving a lower IV dose of prednisone plus insulin for the elevated glucose levels that resulted from so much prednisone. I was extremely fortunate to connect with a new primary care doctor who diagnosed ARDS with pulmonary edema and prescribed furosemide and home nursing care for me as soon as I was released from St Rose. I dismissed Thompson.

Dr. Thompson is as close as you get to the ideal physician and surgeon. I know this because after 30 years of orthopedic microsurgical practice myself, treating 25K patients through 100K injuries performing 10K surgeries, I am VERY particular about attention to detail and excellence. This doctor endured my own compulsive presentation of medical details and then elected to perform an exemplary history and physical exam that anticipates I am well treated. Thanks to Dr. T for his work.
