Dr. Bonnie McDonald, DO

My first visit with the doctor was very promising. She was very thorough and caring. That was the last time I saw her. Every other visit was handled by her PA. Not that she was bad but the only thing they wanted to treat was my sinus infections. But my complaint is with their office/billing staff. I came in for an appt and was told I owed $15. Because of the insurance I have I knew that I didn't. Bottom line--I was refused my appt. and then got a bill the next month for a $50 no show. And no I hadn't owed the $15, it was paid the day before my appt. Multiple phone calls couldn't clear it up. What a poor way to run a medical practice!

Just left my visit with Dr. McDonald at AZ Family Care, and yet again, I’m super impressed. I’ve been seeing Dr. McDonald for 8 years now, and although I don’t live anywhere close now, I will still keep coming back. She’s so thorough and efficient, not to mention gentle with her exams. Thank you for always making sure you take the time to address all of my concerns and never making me feel like I’m an inconvenience, no matter how busy you are! 4 star service for sure- professional and courteous

I was looking for a new dr. and Dr. McDonald seemed a good fit. I called the front office to make an appointment. They asked which insurance I had. When I told them Medica with UHC they said they do not accept it. I called my insurance company who assured me Dr. McDonald was in-network. I called again and they were adamant that it had to be only UHC. My ins company called them directly and was then told they had the right to refuse new patients (instead of admitting mistake). Disappointing.

Dr. McDonald is the best family physician I have ever had. She spends a good amount of time with all patients and is very receptive to questions. She is extremely thorough and explains everything in terms the average person would understand. It easy to schedule an appointment and the staff demonstrate great customer service.

Dr. McDonald, is very thorough and professional in her approach as well as being very nice to deal with at a personal level. I have complete faith in her abilities and approach when it comes to managing my healthcare needs, I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I am very happy with the care I receive. She's very thorough but not wasteful. She explains everything well and the reasons for testing, not testing, and ways to live a healthier life. Her staff is very friendly and her assistant is very diligent about returning calls. Highly recommended.

I have never had a doctor be so thorough in her analysis. Even when it was time to send me to a specialist, the specialist even commented how thorough her analysis was before sending me over. Bonnie truly cares about her patients and it shows. I had a friend recommend her to me whole-heartedly, and I would do the same (and have) in a heartbeat.

I have been seeing Dr. McDonald for over 10 years. Dr. McDonald has helped me get a number of health items under control, and not just by prescribing drugs. She gives very good road maps, to help me along the way. Most importantly, she did a PSA test before recommended age, even though I had none of the symptoms. Because of her, I had my prostate cancer detected early, and she directed me in the right directions. Highly recommend Dr. McDonald.
