Dr. Bonnie Leyva, MD

Dr. Leyva runs a risk to her patients. I highly advise going to another doctor. She didn’t want to do anything about my son’s autoimmune disease. She literally told us we were going to sit back and wait until his thyroid was totally destroyed before we did anything. We went and got a 2nd opinion and he is now getting the health treatment he needs. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

We never wait long to be seen. The diabetes educators are usually very kind and helpful. It's always a pleasure to see Dr. Leyva. She is so kind and very encouraging. We love that she is more laid back and she listens to me as the parent and her approach is very team oriented.

This office unfortunately, takes very very long to file prescriptions, prior authorizations, etc. The medical system is in general very bureaucratic, still, the paper work with this office is slower and harder (to get done) that in other offices.

Dr. Leyva was helpful and knowledgeable. The front desk staff was quick and friendly. My only complaint is the cost. Since my son is a new patient, we were charged $284 to speak with the doctor for a few minutes.

The doctor is good. The staff is terrible! It is worth looking for another place just to not have to deal with the terrible team.

I wish there was a .25 star, because that is all this doctor and her staff deserves. They are totally uncaring and unresponsive. My son's blood pressure was very high at the beginning of the visit (I had to ask the "nurse" what the numbers were as she did not offer the information to me, the concerned mother) - they were not even going to re-check his blood pressure if I had not asked! We were obviously very concerned, and when the mumbling, rude and uncaring nurse (?) retook his blood pressure at the end of the visit, all she mumbled was "ya. it's lower." Again, I had to ASK what his blood pressure was! The doctor literally does not give a hoot about her patients, and the only reason she gets a start is because she diagnosed my son's condition. She had increased his medication 2 weeks before the appointment, and read his labs and was about to raise it yet again, having not recalled she had already increased it! Absolutely deplorable. She has seen him multiple times, automatical
