We did not have the experience others have had with Dr. Shah. Dr. Shah met with my brother, a mantle cell lymphoma patient, and convinced him that he has the best treatment for him. However, he rarely met with my brother personally after that. In fact, in the last five weeks of my brothers life while he was in the hospital very close to Dr. Shah’s office, he never once came to see him personally – even for a five minute social visit - despite repeated requests that he do so. While it is debatable that he had the best treatment protocol for my brother, we feel that the personal care that others may have experienced was not shown in this case. We were told that he is very busy with patients in his office, so he didn’t have time to come by the hospital. We believe a personal visit from him would have helped my brother, at least emotionally. And we believe it’s wrong that he never once stopped in to show personal care and that he was integrally involved in a case.
