Dr. Bertram Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis made it sound like HIFU surgery an easy way to treat small focused area of prostate cancer with minimal side effects. Only wearing catheter for 4 days. However, my post-surgery condition is one of nightmares as I have worn Foley catheter more than a month before he started planning to find solution for my inability to urinate. Had Dr. Lewis made me aware of such high likely condition (~13%) comes with HIFU surgery, I'd not have had this surgery. My life is put on hold indefinitely till the solution is found. I'm totally devastated with my additional cardiac condition. I do not recommend Dr. Lewis for post-surgery care nor HIFU surgery.

DR CLAMIED I HAD BAD HYGIENE BECAUSE I WAS WEARING AN OLD PAIR OF CUT OFF JEANS NOT READY FOR MY CYSTOSCOPY RESCHEDULED IN 4 DAYS GOT IN PARKING LOT THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT THEY CALL WANT TO RESCHEDULE AGAIN !!!! NOT PLAYING THIER GAMES ANYMORE YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM DR LEWIS !!!!!!!!!!!!

We Love Dr Bertrum Lewis, My husband had kidney stones varies times , Dr Lewis explained why this was happening. Because of his thorough exam’s he caught cancer in one of my husbands kidney . He found it on time only one third of the kidney was cut , today my husband is cancer free. Thank God and Dr’s like him. Dr Lewis really cares of his patients.

Dr. Lewis is the first urologist to stop and look at my history. It took 2.5 years, but he finally was able to figure out why I produce so many large stones. Was referred to a surgeon in Tampa and 3 surgeries later we hope it fixes my issue. KUDOS to Dr. Lewis

Saw Dr Lewis for a prostate issue. After sitting in the exam room for 20 minutes, dr Lewis spent around 5 minutes with me and left. He advised I would need a test but didn't sign the order. I was told he left. Had to wait 20 additional minutes for him to sign the form.

I have had kidney stones now for 30+ years. I have had a multitude of kidney Drs. and have never had such great care, concern, and treatment in Dr. Lewis. I was in the hospital/ER over 7 times in 6 weeks. Had 4 procedures done to remove blockages. Dr. Lewis has a great bedside manner, , sat with me while I was in the midst of a panic attack until meds was given. What Dr does that?

I am very satisfied with Dr Bertram Lewis and the three procedures he performed on me. Dr Lewis listens to your concerns is very informative and allows you to choose from the options of procedures available for your diagnosis.

First 2 visits were good and I thought I found a good Dr.. The third he asked what I was there for. Shouldn't a Dr. know? Didn't even look at my labs until he was in the room and clearly didn't even look at my records. He told me on visit 2 information that would help me. He was on board with helping my root issue. On the 3rd visit he contradicted what he said on the 2nd visit and was the total opposite. All he wanted to do was do what typical doctors do, take the easy route and prescribe medication that just treats the symptoms, not cure or fix the root issue. He shouldn't tell his patients one thing then turn around and change it. He didn't show the same concern he originally did.

Dr. Bertram listens, shows concern and actually spends time with you. He will look you in your eyes and talk to you like a person. He doesn't just toss pills to you, but rather wants to treat the underlying cause. At least its that way in my case. I've been to numerous doctors over the last 3 years and Dr. Bertram is hands down an actual good doctor. He's the first one who explains things to me and doesn't tell me my symptoms are not from what I'm bringing up or that they won't treat me. It is super rare to find doctors in the state of FL who actually care and aren't full of themselves. Doctors could learn a lot from him.
