Dr. Bernard Chang, MD

I had cataract surgery with complications. Called the emergency line which he answered. Did not, and could not answer my questions I was, and still am extremely anxious. I cannot see properly out of my eye. I am looking forward to my one week postop with a different doctor at the same office Extremely upsetting I had to google for answers to my questions at my one day postop. No one offered to tell me what the improvement and my eyesight was. I had to ask and they had to look it up. I mean none of this is acceptable.

Dr. Chang is one of the best Dr I've seen. I didn't have a horrible eye issue, but another doctor completely refused to work on my problem. I went to Dr. Chang and he gave me the impression that my problem was NOT abnormal and he took care of my vision problem! I am back to being able to read the huge road signs along the interstate!! Simple pleasures, I can see again!

The Franklin office is well staffed and very efficient . Dr Chang is patient, thorough and very kind. Fortunate to have Dr Chang in Franklin!

I think Dr. Chang is intelligent and knowledgeable. That said, I also think he is arrogant and pretty unpleasant and summary in his estimation of patients. As a professional, I was surprised at being treated as if I were some old lady who was wasting his time.

Dr. Chang is exceptional. He treats you as a human being and not a number. His discussions with you are at a level that you can understand. His knowledge in his expertise is remarkable. Dr. Chang puts you at ease in a stressful situation.

Dr. Chang is the best. From the time I had my initial exam to the last follow up visit, I found Dr. Chang to be absolutely focused on providing me with excellent care and a resolution to my vision problems. His exams were performed with professionalism, efficiency, courtesy, and respect. As anyone with a lick of common sense knows, eye surgery is a very delicate operation and I can say from my experience that Dr. Chang's skills are irrefutable. Dr. Chang saved my husband's eye after a farm accident that sliced his cornea across the middle, embedding bacteria-laden eyelashes in the process. The eye was in danger of collapse, but Dr. Chang expertly removed those lashes, as well as the tattered lens. We expected my husband would never see again through that eye, but Dr. Chang's treatment procedures restored partial sight to the eye, with no need for a corneal transplant. He is a very compassionate, amiable, gifted surgeon.

Dr. Chang is knowledgable and careful. He is also peremptory in his manner and displays little human kindness. He has been my eye doctor for yearsand I'm sticking with him because he knows what he's doing.

He was inconsistent with his remarks and decisions. His assistant almost seemed afraid of him. He was not easy to talk to. He did not seem to appreciate questions nor want to take the time for explanations.

I am very happy with my experience with Dr. Chang and his staff. He was kind and explained everything to me and my husband. My cataract surgery was very successful. His staff appears knowledgeable and efficient, as well as caring. I have had several different surgeries during my life, and he is the only one I recall coming to me in pre-op and post-op smiling, patting me on the arm and letting me know everything was fine.
