Never on time
Friendly doctor however each time I have an appointment it is never on time. One time I waited a whole hour. Now that is ridiculous. I would say that although he is friendly I’m not certain the tactics are the most helpful. There are some medications and remedies I don’t think he is aware of. The front desk staff are not all there either.

Better Communication Needed with Patients
Arrived on time for an 8:45 appointment. By 9:40, the doctor still hadn't been in to see me. I went up to the desk and asked how much longer the wait will be, and was told he was coming to me next. When he comes in, Dr. Petty proceeds to admonish me because he was told that I checked in late, and that they have to see the people that arrive on time first. I asked him who informed him that I arrived late, and he says the reception desk. I explain that this was incorrect, that I was on time, and that no one told me at check-in that my arrival was late. If you as a facility or going to punitively push back the care of your patients because of a real or perceived lateness by that patient, that needs to be communicated. I spoke with the office manager after my appointment. She states that the systems shows that they started check-in at 8:46 but didn't complete it until 8:52, and that I was not late according to their criteria of arriving 15 minutes after the appointment time. Poorly handled

Dr. Petty is my hero!!!
Dr. Petty treated my bilateral knee pain. I walked in with a cane and walked out without one. He is a miracle worker!!!!

Iconic Doctor
Dr. Petty showed a real concern of what was causing my leg pain. He did an ultrasound on my leg and gave me his opinion of what was causing my pain. A follow up appointment with another doctor confirmed his diagnosis of my leg and now I have pursued other treatments. Thanks so much for your advice.

Did not care
He and the staff didn’t seem to actually care about me or my injury. It was just about getting me out of there as fast as they could to see the next patient. I probably spent a total of 10 mins in there for a fractured bone and severe pain. They seemed to be annoyed with every question I asked. I will not be coming back here in the future. The cost of the visit and the type of treatment was not every close.

Doesn't seem to know what he is doing
Was referred for an ultrasound and was disappointed in how unprofessional he was. He kept going into his backpack to retrieve and put away his tablet while vaguely explaining what he thought I was experiencing. He seemed very inexperienced and unsure of himself. I do not feel confident in his diagnosis and will be seeking a second opinion. Seems like he just went with the potential diagnosis provided on the referral. Patient summary sent to me a week later was not mine. Just another reason to seek care elsewhere.

Excellent service for my 8yr old son with knee issues. We was referred to Raleigh orthopedic but they don't see children under the age of 13 with my son condition; which was surprising; but this Doctor and office helped us tremendously with open arms and my son is feeling much better and on his way to a full recovery. Soon he'll be back to playing sports. Thank you all SO much?

I took my son in because he had knee soreness as well as ankle issues. Dr. Petty was very professional, patient, listened and offered options for care. He developed a treatment plan that I’m confident will get my son back to 100%. I would recommend him to anyone.

I saw doctor Petty for pain in my right knee. He and his staff were very friendly. They spoke to me with respect like I was a person. He quickly diagnose me to have arthritis of my right kneecap. He discussed different treatments. I agreed to have a platelet rich plasma injection and a knee brace. I would highly recommend doctor Petty and the injection without reservation.

After a motor vehicle accident in December of 2019, I thought I would end up in a wheelchair. After trying several options, I was referred to Dr. Petty and he has given my life back to me. I have been teaching college and medical school and also and attorney for 40 years and can honestly say that the care and treatment by Dr. Petty and the staff of Emerge Ortho has been beyond any ex pectations. In this time of Covid, the personal consult and care by Drs Petty, Wilson and Arcedo and medical assistant Pulliam is a real answer to prayer.

He did the job but told me I was being disrespectful without any understanding of my situation or current events. I saw this doctor virtually. I am not experienced with visiting a doctor virtually and thinking- perfect, I can visit with the doctor while I get ready for work- because I don’t have the capability to go to a doctor in person because... pandemic, not being able to miss work, caring for a one year old, etc. It would have shown understanding and compassion, IMO, had he said, hello- when you meet with a doctor virtually we have the same expectations for your undivided attention- instead of calling it disrespect. I would call it tough love if he knew me. Though he wouldn’t assume I have my doctorate in education, a social activist, and a respectful citizen of my community. His words offended me. He did a great job analyzing my symptoms and helping me to get the prescription I needed. I guess this is one of the differences in seeing your personal physician vs a stranger.
