Dr. Benigno Decena, MD

After a horrible experience with a different provider at another group, I hesitated for years to undergo a second ablation. Four years ago, I consulted Dr. Decena, who lived up to his reputation. In the recovery room, he showed me before-and-after photos on his phone where he had zapped the offending spots that were misfiring. I haven't had a single episode since. It has been life-changing.

Recently had a heart conversion procedure with Dr Decena and was thrilled. The procedure was scary from the outset until he explained the process in terms both my husband and I could understand, did not feel rushed and made us feel like we were important enough not to rush through everything. His background and bedside manner remind me of my experience of being a staff member at northwestern university in Chicago. Glad that my heart will be followed by a competent and caring physician. Highly recommend him and TMC cath lab as well. For such a frightening situation every staff encounter was positive and reassuring. Thank you!

Dr. Decena is a knowledgeable, caring Cardiologist. He put me at ease and provided a detailed explanation of the procedure he was going to perform. He has a wonderful bedside manner.

Dr D is very personable and listens to you, and makes any decisions and treatment path based on his knowledge and your personal health. I feel very comfortable with him and feel confident in his ability.

Dr. Decena wants to review data I collect, listens carefully and will request tests that can definitely identify the real cause of my symptoms.

I have seen Dr. Decena for a number of years and he has kept me going. I have had a pacemaker, defibrillator, ablation is able to manage my atrial fibrillation so I can have a productive life. He is so knowledgeable, such great expertise with the heart and the electrical parts of the heart,he explains everything he is wonderful. I wouldn't go anywhere else I feel very blessed to have found him.

Dr. Decena is tops. I left my prior cardiologist after he did my First ICD. He knows my condition thoroughly and treats me like a sentient being. He understands my lifestyle and gives realistic advice. Dr. Decena makes sure I get in when I need to see him and even calls me back when I phone him.
